When does QF open seat allocation

I’m guessing it’s a 737 service?

Depending on the load you may find that it won’t open up for the lower status members

In the other thread there are two reports of the SriLankan seat selection sticking and as yet no reports of it not sticking. (There are reports of being unable to make a selection, which is a different matter.)

I selected 4A for a flight on Tuesday (no idea if anyone else had already selected it) and it shows in QF MMB. At T-80 I changed out of 4A and then changed back into 4A.

Presumably it will stick but of course it's not guaranteed and it's no drama if it doesn't.

Ok have gone to the dark side and changed seat via UL MMB after confirming vacancy in EF
Reflected in QF MMB...Thanks

Wait. You were able to use the UL website to change your seat on a Qantas flight to a seat Qantas said wasn't available to be selected?

Does the UL website reflect allocated seats or allow you to select any seat? Be careful as the actual seat change may not be real time.

UL site is only showing me 2 x middle rows to choose from on QF3/4.....QF showing plenty more

UL seat map showed every seat available (as though the cabin was empty which it cannot possibly be) so its important to get a sense of seat availability via another source like EF/QFWP/QFWP1/QFCL
I could see seat availability via QFMMB as a WP but wanted to move a NB to a better seat. Checked in EF and confirmed what I saw in QFMMB then went to ULMMB to select the seat.

Seat selection seems to be holding 12 hours later

Usually as Wp you can request a travelling partner (in same class but different booking) who is NB to be seated next to you. However this time they said its restricted please checkback later.. I did not HUACA...

Lol I feel all references to UL need to be removed from here but still very curious as I have to go onto BA.com to get front row Y if i dont want exit seat at T-48 so would be useful to know.

As above T-80 for QF, T-96 for SQ, T-48 for BA are the magic hours
