What's your Uber experience?

Those photos are not the SYD T3 dedicated Uber pickup which is right outside of QF. Pics shown are of the shared area for Didi, Sheba, private quick pick ups and for T2 uber. Noting Virgin/Jeststar didnt pay ffor a dedicated uber at T2 like Qantas did at T3.

Since the dedicated uber pick up which is in front of taxi opened ive never been sent to the old area. If allocated there just cancel and make sure the correct pick up is specified.

T9 take an uber from T1 and T3 requires crossing no roads.

Drivers are being lazy if asking you to go there. You wont be charged if you cancel right away. Report the driver.

I know this won’t be news to anyone who uses SYD domestic regularly but the Uber at domestic is an absolute cough show...

SYD Dom passenger pickup is a 💩show
But here is the Uber instructions for drivers picking up passengers at T3 kerbside.
The location is directly outside baggage carousel 1,2 on the inner lane and in front of the T3 kerbside taxi rank.

"Priority" is in name only. I suspect less💩 than P3 "express" pickup which is further away from the passenger's perspective but the driver has to pay for the privilege.

P1 Prime is the most expensive place to wait for a passenger. Rideshares do not get rides while waiting there as they have to first go to a holding lot where they get a fare request..

Entering Priority Pickup area (between P2 and P1) requires a RFID Etag used for tollways. There is no free time unlike the Express pickup (ground level P3) which has free 15 minutes. I think its about $5 for the first 15 min at Priority
T3 Kerbside pickup also costs, but slightly less than $5 for 15 minutes once past the boomgate (see video).
The possible reason that people are backing up out of Priority pickup area is that they did not realise that an Etag is required to enter or they realised this was not the free one.

IDK why you were not picked up at T3 . All I can think is that the Uber algorithm thinks your closest pickup is already at Priority and so made you walk there? While the video suggests that pickup requests can only be obtained by queuing at the virtual queue at the holding lot, Ive had pickups at the Priority pickup as soon as I requested via the Uber app.
Having 2 separate Rideshare pickup areas possibly leads to this unintended consequence.

Anyway all the pickup fares help the airport owners like my super fund put food on the table

I wonder though if a private car with an etag but non rideshare car can pickup passengers from the T3 Kerbside - say a car in the family picking up a family member?

Pics shown are of the shared area for Didi, Sheba, private quick pick ups and for T2 uber
Correct, that is the Priority Pickup area but exactly the point of the post which was the pickup was Not at T3 kerbside as originally booked
