What's the worst food poisioning you have had from an airline?

What a fantastic thread idea

Well must say I've been very very lucky and never experienced it via plane food. Gold Class cinema 2 weeks ago is another story....

Scoot tried to poison me but luckily nothing happened. So that must be my best as I didn't feel it.

after a long session of champagne and then a BA f trip I basically passed out. That would be the worst as I didn't take advantage of enough booze and food onboard.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using AustFreqFly

Ryanair tried to poison me, but they cancelled my flight before I could take it (true story, they actually cancelled the route altogether).

edit: can't believe I still have the cancellation email

Ryanair regrets that following an operational review the route detailed below will cease operation from 7th May 2007.

Marseille (MRS) to Rome Ciampino (CIA)

Please advise any other passengers who may be travelling in your party of the changes.

I eagerly await a post by anat0l along the same lines, from what I recall, the excessive drinking didn't agree with him, unless there's something even better :p

Did you book it so you could fly from/to the CIA?

Difficult to break it down into best and worst, but these days on long haul to the UK I always have the same symptoms when I land, really bad headache, very fuzzy, some might say, hazy recollection of the flight, and a delicate disposition. I can only assume these symptoms are the result of on board food poisoning. QF, BA, and EY have all been similar...although In order to address the best part of the thread title I think it is fair to say QF F has provided the best food poisoning...from what I vaguely remember. :p

It's always the food, TonyHancock. Spirit kills all bugs and such like. ;)

Hard to answer the OP. My worse food poisoning had to have been at my cousins wedding, the damn chicken, as it prevented a fine meeting of minds with an interesting friend of my cousin. I was really looking forward to discussing life the universe and everything with her for several hours. I had to fly to the wedding, does that count?

Best QF5 FRA to SIN, I got off in SIN feeling as fuzzy, hazy and in need of a bathroom.

Thank heavens have never been poisoned on an airline, a few I would be worried about don't ser ve food. One of the best (which amazed me was American Airlines }I admit Business from Costa Rica to Miami, great food

I felt sick and had a headache after the tasting menu on QF9 last year, if that counts?

I am not sure but a few times I haven't felt real flash after leaving the Flounge.

Maybe the Salt and Pepper squid was not quite right.

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

I'm a veteran J* flyer (weekly commute for 4 years) & survived.....never touched anything that wasn't in a can.....with the words Bundy on it!

IIRC the worst meal ever put in front of me was BKK-SYD BA F....total rubbish, even the FA said it didn't look good:shock:

Worst: Camplyobacter (sp??) from BA J on our "babymoon", while I was pregnant. Apparently camplyobacter is just oneof the nasty food poisionings one really shouldn't get while pregnant. Hope Little Miss understands .

Best: Hmm, J flight BNE-LAX in May. QantasLink FA sitting across the aisle from me. Awesome staff who helped me decide which red to have with dinner by offering a tasting of all reds on offer. Cheeky bottle of taittinger under my arm as I left. Did not deal with the 1hr in plan delay LAX-DFW at all. Definite food poisoning or motion sickness, for sure!!

Worst poisoning I have ever had was after 19 pints of Heineken I decided to knock back a shot of Famous Grouse.... That was it, lights out. Vomited in the flower bed. Worst poisoning ever.

Bloody Grouse

Along those lines, the worst is a toss up between many (think half-dozen +) vodka martinis at home, or awilcockson suggesting doing all the shots on the table, twice, at trippin_the_rift's birthday, with both I was very sick immediately after and all through the next day :p

Anzac Day F lounge (wine tasting of all the 6 reds + one that wasn't on the list) run SYD-MEL followed by drinks at the HSW Exec lounge could be the best liver poisoning experience. See more here.

Worst I've ever had was caused by a bad bottle of the Oyster Bay Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Ok it may have had to do with the 3 bottles i had before it, but we swear the last bottle had turned which is what made us sick, oh and the person who decided to spin the motel around multiple times during the night!

Forgive me for this, munitalP, but if this is a "best and worst" thread, how do you have a "best" food poisoning story? :)
