What's the worst food poisioning you have had from an airline?

As previously mentioned here I ate something dodgy at the FinnAir lounge, ensuring that after puking out the contents of my tummy a few times, I was fast asleep just recovering in my one and only long haul flight in AY J.

Henseforth I've dubbed that getting Heli-Belly.
 
I take a morning Cobham flight every fortnight. I get food poisoning from the breakfast every single time. So I stopped eating it and now am fine. Don't know if others get it as it's not a common topic to discuss, but still, it's not that hard to make a healthy breakfast given how much they are probably making from our FIFO charter.
 
From memory I have never had food poisoning from eating airline food other than scromboid poisoning from a tuna baguette at Qantas SYD T2 Lounge ~5 years ago.
 
The only case I'm fairly sure came from a plane was after a JASA flight where I may have overindulged (food not drink) and paid the price later that night. So I'm not 100% sure if it was food poisoning or a pork dish that didn't agree with me or everything else I'd eaten.
 
My worst food poisoning was from Subway when I was stupid enough to eat their over processed gross food!

Chicken got me... Was very very sick.
 
About 6 years ago, my wife and I came back into SYD from LAX on a Qantas 747. About 4 hours out of SYD she dissappeared while I was asleep. I subsequently found out that she passed out near the toilets and was carried into business class where all manner of attention was paid to her. I woke up and wondered where she was and went looking for her, to be found by the crew and told what happenned!
I got an instant upgrade to J and sat next to her for the rest of the flight to SYD.
As we taxied to the bay, there was a bloodbus driving beside us. The passengers were told to remain seated and the ambos came up on a scissor jack into the galley on the right side of the aircraft. She was put on a stretcher and we both went down in the scissor jack to the ambo and we were loaded into it. We were out of the airport less that 7 minutes after touching down via a side gate at the airport, and after customs came onto the aircraft to sight our passports.
She was admitted to hospital where she stayed for 48 hours and was diagnosed with food poisoning (even got it in writing after the event).
Our return bookings to ADL had to be redone at our cost, and QANTAS would not admit ANY liability, even though the last meal we had eaten was in LA at about 1pm the day we left (and we flew out at 11pm or something). All she had eaten was the food on the aircraft.
Travel insurance would not cover it as I had estimated the return date wrongly by 1 day, so it had expired and they did not want to know us.
All in all it cost about $1000 out of our pocket for what I still believe was a QANTAS problem.
She still has problems eating food on the plane.

Playing Devil's advocate, food poisoning can take much longer than 10 hours to develop. With that in mind, it may not have been a Qantas problem at all.

Having been the victim of food poisoning myself, you will be hard pressed to have any company admit liability, as there are too many variables involved (unless you are prepared to get the evidence to confirm what actually gave it to you).

It was interesting the time that I got it, my collegue and I both had the same meal on our final night in KL, both got the poisoning at the exact same time, and both put it down to airline food until we spoke to each other a few days after the event.

However, I do sympathise with your wife, as I know how nasty it can be.
 
Surprising that QF would not organise onward travel to Adelaide. Very surprising...I would expect them to do that.
 
Flying MAS from KUL to LAX via NRT in 1999. Horrible experience and it scared me off using MH for a decade.
