Upgrade upgrade upgrade. Last year I upgraded 8 pax from Y to J to the US and back that used 1 152 000 points!

I might buy a toaster from the frequent flyer store.

(spoken in jest)

I note the OP has a post count of 3 (although join was 2012) so "welcome" (?back) to AFF.

I think more info is required to give you an answer to suit you.

- what upcoming travel do you have / need to do?
- who might or might not travel with you?
- what do you like to do when you holiday?
- do you like "premium class" travel, or do you prefer more trips in economy?

So many variables.

Otherwise, if you're seriously asking, you'll get a whole host or replies that aren't applicable to you so the value to your situation is moot.

I guess I'd consider more JASA's for everyday travel, instead of paying cash. This would then help me retain my status while not doing any extra travel.
