What I ate today - the food thread

Last night at Lanterna, Novi Sad, our choices were basic but good. The red wine by the glass was the best we have tasted on this trip. Chicken Caesar salad and pizza.

Not surprising we liked the wine, :)

Quote “Erdevik Trianon is a red blend wine from Serbia. This wine is produced in the Fruska Gora region of Serbia. The grapes are grown in the Breskvik micro-location, benefiting from sunlight and reflection off the Danube River. The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, reminiscent of old-school Australian blends. Some reviewers note a deep dark ruby color, aromas of oak spice, black forest berries, and nougat, with a juicy palate, integrated tannins, and mineral notes.”
Unquote.
Nice quatro staggione!

Bit tardy with what I ate Tuesday.
From the beginning of June, Club Millésime Sofitel Saigon Plaza does not have the same offerings of two choices per guest from their Menu.
It is now what they call "buffet-style "

I chose a very small bowl of Beef Pho - was delicious.

Dined at ST25 by Koto, Sofitel Saigon Plaza on two nights, similar to Miss Mi Melbourne. They have flip cards to describe the dishes. We shared

Steamed rice, Asian greens and Fried Chicken Wings

The wings were so delicious, we ordered another!

Finished off with a shared Coffee Creme Brulee , half covered with whipped Chantilly cream - as good as I've had in Paris.

The problem a typhoon can cause. Decided to go to afternoon tea. Arrived 10 minutes after it started. Luckily got the last table but naturally service a little slow. Also they had run out of the decorative cages so our food served on a plate.IMG_1479.jpeg

Still tasted the same and enjoyed. Some people have hangups and refuse the plate. A lot of entitled folks who don’t seem to be aware that the typhoon outside has resulted in a bigger crowd than normal.

Last Saturday my son took us out for lunch for my wifes birthday. We went to the Sweetwater Rooftop Bar in East Fremantle

It serves "Asian fusion" food. Most of it tasted very nice but to me in my old age the serves were small and expensive.

We topped it up with chips and Fried Gado Gado Dumplings. I did not like these dumplings very much and tasted no relationship to gado gado. On the other hand my young grandson adored the chips -which were actually vey good.
