What do you do when you have hurkle durkeled the morning away? Why go for the special Sunday roast at Tziki bar.

I think a few of us have been hurkle-durkling our day away today!

I had a family lunch for my wife’s birthday at her father’s and step-MIL house. She’s a great cook (Welsh) and put on a Sunday Roast spread:

Probably the last birthday she’ll see her dad as he’s gone downhill after heart failure diagnosis, we’re hoping he makes it to his 92nd birthday on 19 July. There were some tears…

Now that’s how you cook a Yorkshire Pudding:



I guessed the marinade fluid (Bourbon) for the roast:



Cheesy broccoli bake. Scraped clean by the adults and my daughter, whereas my son turned up his nose.



We NEVER go without gravy.




Washed down with a family favourite:



Dessert was English apple cake with rum. Thankfully I couldn’t taste the rum

Went back for thirds.

Yesterday @ The Cove Hotel with a few former workmates for our Annual "Christmas in July" lunch
I went with the semi healthy seniors fish - with salad

Had to save room for Friday night pizza - we like to support our local business


And today after shopping with our daughter and gkids at DFO Uni Hill
Lunch at their local Italian restaurant.

Salmon Risotto for me

Pizza for them - no pics

Finished off with shared desserts, ie too full/couldn't agree!
Tiramisu, Chocolate Lava Cake and Berry cheesecake

Excellent. Then shared a limoncello cake with meringue.




Recommended but book on weekends

No but we knew our favourite staff member wasn't going to be there today.
As well on Saturday we are off on another adventure so really couldn't have had the amount of lamb they serve.

Lunch at our local Hapi cafe with our gkids and our daughters for an early birthday catch up before we head to Vietnam tomorrow - some shared plates.
