What I ate today - the food thread

Had the itch for seafood again.

Despite a spectacular coastline and clear blue water… I defy anyone to find fresh seafood anywhere in the Coromandel.

But I digress.

Dinner at the Blue Lagoon Bar and Eatery in Whitianga.

Shared the seafood platter.

The bernaise mussels were great.

And they were happy to do half the fish battered and half grilled keeping everyone happy.

And just to prove I’m still being a responsible parent, Miss H was force fed this. 🤣

About last night...
Despite not really feeling up to, I had a reservation to honour at my favourite place in Hong Kong - Yardbird.

Tempura Corn

Right side: KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower). Researching this dish led me to Yardbird years ago, and they've still got it!
Front: Brussels Sprouts with black garlic and crispy garlic.
Beverage: (no booze tonight - they do have a reasonable whisky selection)
Shio Suika, watermelon and yuzu.

Finally found a good Thai restaurant for us. Funny name- Love You Long Thai. We started with coconut prawns and chicken satay. It had the largest chicken pieces we have ever had but it was pretty good.

No picture of the prawns. Pretty standard but tasted fine.
Both the mains, chicken pad Thai and Khao Soi were large and very tasty though I would ask for extra chilli if I were to have it again.
