What cheeses me off

Well no not if it’s private property. Needs to be reported to the management. I’m sure the OP is on to it! :)

I politely approach those who park in the clearly marked disabled spot at our local post office centre car park and point out their indiscretion. I particularly like the complaints of young people, those in gym gear, and mothers with children, who all say “oh didn’t see the sign but it doesn’t matter, I’ll only be 5-10 minutes”. Grr.

Many shopping centres pass their carparks over to local council to manage and this allows rangers to issue fines.

WCMO is people who check into a hotel, then take the staff's time up by wanting directions to every attraction intown; how the trains work, how far to a supermarket, can I catch a bus ....

But worse, those hiring a car in not their country - this takes long enough but then asking about the road rules; how do the tolls work, what are the speed limits etc etc Go for a spin around the Arc de Triomphe and find out for yourself!

There are three rooms booked by family in this hotel in Malta. Tonight each of us (women) commented how the room service people were messing around with our private stuff. In my case putting all the deodorant and toothpaste back into the bag and zipping it up and also removing the plug adaptor and then winding all the charger cords around if. I always make sure the cords are out of the way of cleaning staff. So Don’t touch my personal stuff. I think this is a girl thing.

So I’m in Muscat on a leisurely return home unwinding after a pretty busy couple of weeks in France.

I’m at the moment at the Movenpick with a wonderful pool which I was fully intending to use against the heat.

WCMO is, per instructions from ‘the ministry’, the pool and the pool deck is closed from 11 am to 4 pm because of the heat. FFS. Max today of 31 !!!!

According to AccuWeather the current temp is 30, but feels like 40?
Still should be able to cool off in the pool though 🤷‍♂️

WCMO is airlines who make it nearly impossible to work out what the fare class code is for a given fare, which thwarts one's intention to find out how much the FF earn will be. For the programme native to the ticketing carrier, fine (except for bonuses etc.); for partner programmes, impossible.

Yes I'm well aware that Qantas is no saint in this regard, but then you have the types like Cathay Pacific where within Economy there are different fare sub-types. Sometimes selecting a different sub-type changes the fare class code, but other times it does not. ITA Matrix gives some idea of what class codes there could be, but it's hard to check - other than guessing based on fare amount - what the exact fare configuration is. And of course, it might be "available" on ITA Matrix but impossible to book on the carrier's website.

Even ITA cannot always help. Online, MH economy fare generally book into O class - even flexi! Basically what you would be buying is O class with an add-on.

To get 'real' flexi, you need a TA.

Priority luggage. Lisbon. There were six people left waiting for luggage last night at midnight. We were all the business class passengers. Guess they think priority means priority boarding.

The Neo planes. Jetstar uses them, as does TK, KMMalta and Lufthansa. And every one has been different. Jetstar is jetstar, think Sardines. KMMalta in J was pleasant enough. One J on Lufthansa was excellent. The other one in J was horrid. Not even charger ports. Interesting that not one passenger on any flight reclined. So no fights. On the horrid one we were the last row in J. Awful. We could see how crammed the row behind us was. We didn't reclined but no space so kept on being bumped.

Strangely (at least for QF), the QBR portal shows fare class at the time of booking. So no real reason not to on the regular QF booking engine.

For CX (and others), you can take (or send) the details from ITA Matrix to a TA to book for you…a varying degree of PITA depending on whether you have a regular TA.

One reason I don’t like Google flights is it fails to show a lot of detail available on ITA Matrix. Pity, be abuse if you click thru to book with CX, it ought to be selecting those fare classes you’re after.

Alternately, I believe some of the OTAs will show booking class?
