What cheeses me off

In for pathology tests
Open at 8:30
I arrive 8:31
Number 11
Do these people sleep in the toilets overnight to get to the front of the line?
I had one Tuesday. Arrived at 11.30am. No one waiting nor being tested. Walked right in. For where I go his seems to be the best time if not fasting. Fasting and pregnancy glucose tests seem to be the main issue first up. Unfortunately results are locked until Tuesday.

WCMO? Discovering in the last week that I'm now old enough for my optometrist to offer me a reading glasses prescription (because I'm now at the point where "....they will make a difference") and that my GP is suddenly talking about my cholesterol levels being "above the average" and a little higher than he'd like (after my most recent annual bloods), so that means I'm also up for a calcium score check when I do my next annual bloods.

A lot of the early birds may have “fasting bloods” so are hungry enough to get there super early.

My hairdresser asking me to give her a good google review and telling me exactly what she wants me to say. 🤬

She is in walking distance and there others within walking distance too but they are at least 50% more expensive and very trendy (which I'm not)

I remember my mother's eye specialist stopped charging a gap after she turned 95-something for you to look forward to :)

My hairdresser
WCMO is my usual barber has suddenly decided to retire but possibly also because the rent went up.
He is the one who takes cash only or WOW gift cards as payment. The queue has ever only been 1 ahead.
Most I ever paid was $30 for a Number2
Now I got to go to another one in a shopping centre who charges $50 and who call themselves hairdressers

I use a shopping centre unisex shop, mostly pay pensioner rate @ $25 for a clipper cut
Couple of weeks back with a fair mane but just needing 432clippers..., I was charged $37..
Not sure if I was punished for the length but they will not see me again...

Does that mean our ploy of being @MARTINE adoptive children might not work anymore because we've become too old?

My Long time barber was a lady in her 50s I guess who eventually retired out of the business and sold it.

It was always a no drama haircut - a little bit of chat but absolutely quiet if the person wasn’t in the chatting mood.

Guy who bought the business or at least started working as the barber was about 30, with tatts, sloppy dressed, hair tied up in a bun and wouldn’t shut up.

I mean, don’t you try and understand the clientele of a personal services business you’ve just bought? I bailed after one visit. Took me a couple of visits to find another reliable good one, who have been with for a few years now.

No drama
When I went there the first time, he asked me whether i wanted hair product. "No" so Never asked me again. (what is hair product?)
I told him don't even bother blowdrying after the usual water spray.
Often I would forget the cash and he would be happy for me to pay later.
Always parking directly outside his shop.
The rigmarole now has gone up - park in shopping centre, walk up stairs/take lift/ walk another 10 minutes. No wonder National productivity is falling in Australia

It really is a bugger when your long-term barber retires, just inconsiderate really;)

I had to find another one when my 84yo Greek barber - also cash only - decided to retire to his garden. Knew exactly what I wanted. Remembered where I went on holidays and always had a park out the front.

Took me a year to find someone even half as good. Never cheaper either.

inconsiderate really
Unfortunately I suspect he was forced out because the rent went up.
The landlord in that shopping strip in semirural sydney is shooting himself in the foot as it is 75% unoccupied with low foot traffic as well.
It is now taken over by a Mini Mart. I cant see it surviving as there is an IGA with direct parking outside and an Aldi.

Today it was WSMO.
At my rehab session today with the OT. and the dumb bells. This old guy comes up and tells her his program finished today so could she make an appointment for next week.
She says first he needs to get a new referral. He says why. I’m from Noosa and my times important. No thought about my time he is wasting.
He literally gave me the Ss.
