What cheeses me off

WCMO today? Arriving home to find my Hills Hoist lying at a 45 degree angle on the back lawn, having completely snapped off at the base. It appears that it had rusted all the way through and the combined weight of a full load of washing plus a gusty Sydney day seems to have been the final straw. At least this one lasted longer than its predecessor, which had been installed for less than a year before it was demolished by a falling tree branch (from a dying eucalypt that Council would not let us touch ).

Todays WCMO, travelators.

So to get to the food court in the shopping centre over the road from my apartment here in Singapore it's on Level B3, so 1 escalator and 4 inclined travelators to get there. No stairs  People tend to stand 2 abreast on the travelators, because god knows most people are completely incapable of walking. But what is really annoying is when you get stuck behind people going up, and then when they get to the escalator (where it's not as annoying) they decide to move across and make room for others and go single file 🤷‍♂️

I guess have been programmed by the government to stand to one side on an escalator (for MRT stations) but don't think or apply that logic to the slower moving travelator. Except the older, frailer folk, who are acutely aware that they are slow moving and might hold people up - these people are really very considerate (although at times its seems they too get frustrated be slow moving 20-somethings).
