Noting that the $20 pack doesn't include any romaing data use. These days my phone is far more for data than phonecalls and sms/TXT's.

The $70 365 day with 9GB of roaming data looks better in that sense. But I can't seem to let go of my Vodafone $5/day roaming that lets me use my normal monthly calls+ data limits anyhow. I guess I should do some history checks, whether I've been more than 14days away and used less than 9GB over that period.

I use Amaysim to keep my Australian mobile going, living overseas, it is crucial for various things like SMS's from banks, or when I want to call someone (eg. tradie) and not appear like I'm calling from a foreign number (which people invariably ignore expecting it be a scam call).

Thanks. I will look into that when the expiry rolls around. Fortunately the current plan works until the day I get back from my next trip.

I got this email too and then spent an hour on chat trying to get them to put me on a basic plan, because there's no way I'm paying more for less. An hour later they wanted me to confirm I could afford my new plan (which was half the cost of the existing one), revalidate myself for the 3rd time and then do a credit check ! What a ridiculous palaver. I gave up and will deal with it another day .
