What cheeses me off

WCMO - Optus have decided they are going to move me onto a new plan as they are retiring the old one. There goes unlimited talk and text to *and* from most countries. Grr.
Try Amaysim; they have some inexpensive prepaid plans with included talk and text to and from 42 countries. Tack on a $20 365 day roaming talk and text pack and you are set.

Amaysim is owned by Optus (Singtel Optus Pty Ltd), which acquired the company in February 2021. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Optus, amaysim operates as a standalone brand and is the fourth-largest mobile provider in Australia, using the Optus mobile network.

Noting that the $20 pack doesn't include any romaing data use. These days my phone is far more for data than phonecalls and sms/TXT's.

The $70 365 day with 9GB of roaming data looks better in that sense. But I can't seem to let go of my Vodafone $5/day roaming that lets me use my normal monthly calls+ data limits anyhow. I guess I should do some history checks, whether I've been more than 14days away and used less than 9GB over that period.

I use Amaysim to keep my Australian mobile going, living overseas, it is crucial for various things like SMS's from banks, or when I want to call someone (eg. tradie) and not appear like I'm calling from a foreign number (which people invariably ignore expecting it be a scam call).

Aluminum is the correct pronunciation for Americans. About a century ago there was debate on whether to include the i. It was decided by the US chemical society that the US would not include the i.
Both forms are correct.

Well most can't pronounce "aluminium" or "nuclear", so what hope have the rest got? 🤣
Remember that Sir Humphry Davy (a Brit) first named the metal alumium in 1808, then changed it to aluminum. While he later considered "aluminium" to match other elements like sodium and magnesium, American usage stuck with his earlier choice.

Righteo. Is that the business one?
No. The Choice large $65.

Thanks. I will look into that when the expiry rolls around. Fortunately the current plan works until the day I get back from my next trip.
Telstra did the same a few years ago:mad:
Yep. That's when I switched to Optus. *Sigh*
