They're suggesting that you don't just top it, but have some sort of wood chopping action that drives the ball into the turf if you hit it flush on the face

I don't really understand what they are suggesting. We're not talking about using the driver for 12 months, 18 months or more. Driver damaged in first week of use.

Oh! All the ones I use here usually let you pay at exit. Although, come to think of it, some of the smaller ones tend to be pay for X hours up front.
