What changes would you make to the Qantas Booking site?

Given I am not a blind person, reducing the way the flights are displayed since the overnight change. The previous layout allowed you to get a good overview, now you have to scroll through ALL the options. This is painful and annoying for those who have large monitors.

Couldn't agree with you more. There's way more scrolling required now and, given I'm not colour-blind, I'm having trouble distinguishing between the Business and First icons when a search is returned. I noticed the timeout for being logged on has been drastically reduced, also, but I do like the fact that it returns you to where you were once you log back in.

I'm so glad I researched and booked my AONE4 before these changes were made! :D

The 'old' site, for Aus domestic fares, displayed pricing for all fare classes on the one page. Now it's a hassle to display J and Y fares and compare them.

I have already accidentally booked a full-fare Y seat when I was intending to book J.

All quite a PITA, actually.

I am currently researching award flights for next year, and I would love to be able to select what class and flight number I want and it to give me a list of dates that is available.

eg I am wanting to fly J class on QF1, and when I search for flexible dates and that class, it comes up with plenty of options but then when I go in to the date I find all the available seats are with (eg) Cathay via Asia etc.

I second this suggestion. Not knowing what flights or airlines are available until after you have picked dates and clicked through is very frustrating.

The confusing use of the "Continue" and "Next" buttons on the classic award search page needs to go. The number of times I hit "Next" thinking it's to continue, only to discover it's referring to the "next" set of dates. Could they not make it "Later Dates" or something?

Also - the ability to book flights ex-LHR via the USA. Whenever I try, it tells me there are no fares available. Funny, because a TA can book these and EF also shows them.

Here's the response to my feedback.

is it just me or does the booking engine just not work in chrome?

I cannot select any dates.

Spent a few very frustrating hours on the Award Booking site today...there is no way to save an itinerary that you like and may want to compare latr ( BA have an option to at least email the itinerary and quote to you)

I also kept getting "please enter a departure city " when clearly I had ( MEL) and chose from their menu so the correct code would come up, tried at least half a dozen times, then cleared down all my cookies and tried again no luck so had to log out and then log back in... Also would love the option that if you change your mind about one departure or arrival city that you can change that without having to press the back button which most times kicks you out anyway, and also the ability to change dates, maybe its me but it is very frustrating and seems really clunky

I'm sure this has been mentioned already...I really liked the drop down list of previous flight searches. Now I have to type the cities and dates again all over...

It might be that I can't work out how to do it, but it appears you can no longer filter flight results eg, searching SYD-MEL on a Friday, I'd like to remove the morning and afternoon flights if I'm flying after work. Having to scroll through the other flights, particularly with the extra white space, just annoys me.

I'd also like to be able to compare Y and J fares for the same sector.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Seems this has been actioned!

So it does! Although the drop down to select travel class is still there. (This used to disappear when the form recognised a domestic flight.) It doesn't matter whether you pick Y or J though, you get both results.

Maybe QF do listen, occasionally....

- Being offered too few choices, depending on starting city (ie BNE-LHR offers SIN connections, but not other SYD origin flights)
- Can't choose other combinations for connections (ie BNE-SYD-LHR, can't choose earlier BNE-SYD options) As a comparator, AA can offer more options like this.
- Can't choose OneWorld options, only QF or EK for example on European routes
- Should have option of no-fee phone assistance for these combinations that can't be booked online (even for WP or CL customers, who are trying to be loyal to QF)

I'm glad to see that Business is indeed listed again next to Y fares for Domestic flights. +1 Qantas.

However, I used to be able to filter flights by time of day (morning, afternoon, evening... etc.) and can't seem to see that option available anymore. Is it gone or am I just not seeing it?

Not completely, works on TT but not AKL-MYC or LHR, maybe its coming?

I thought I would do something very simple - look up the movies for next month on the International flights. The page says pick your month, and when I did I had use Google translate - the page threw up foreign language selection. I sent an email to QANTAS, offering to give them a screenshot that showed /en in the URL, but the foreign language in the page. I have not been taken up on my offer. It just seems yet another poorly built component of a very unsatisfactory web site.

How about being able to get a copy of your Qantas E-Ticket emailed again? (that you might not have received or has gone missing or you need again for some other reason). How hard can could it be? And yet, you can't do it.

..and yet is is what 'Email Itinerary' in Manage your booking is documented to do
