And me, I just sent my first letter this week  Looking forward to join the chat 'What will I get?" in a few years 😂

I’m about to do the same. Have been meaning to for the past couple of years but the idea of actually composing a letter full of BS was tiresome. Enter chat GPT and now I’m ready to go.

I turned it into an homework exercise for my 13 years old daughter. I gave her a little brief and she wrote a fantastic letter 🤩
Now she ask me every day if I got a response 🙄
Fingers crossed we will have a bottle of Wendouree for her 18 birthday 😂

You will surely have a couple of bottles- but it will taste like Yellowtail if you open it for her 18th.

I totally understand that Wendouree and most nice wines need to age to be great but if a young Wendouree taste like Yellowtail then I will be very disappointed!!!

Having said that, now I’m thinking that I have no ideas what Yellowtail tastes like 🤷‍♂️

We tasted through the range of the last release and calling it Yellowtail is completely off the mark - they have fruit and freshness. However, the magic is definitely when they age, to me its because they retain fantastic freshness while gaining complexity.

I could be wrong, but I have read somewhere that the current and the most recent releases are made to be consumed sooner than their previous vintages.

you’ve had Yellowtail? they don’t have fruit and freshness?

Some may be writing this. But then again anyone can write anything they like, but that doesn't make it valid. Within the last 3 months I've spoken with the Bradys directly. In short, nothing has changed. Drink early at your peril. A generational change will soon happen at Wendouree and the future wine maker for Wendouree has been identified. This may mean a change in approach (although I doubt it), but for now nothing has changed and the Bradys are quite insistent about this. The Bradys have never desired to make drink now wines. They are very modest, genuine, generous people, well aware of the legacy that they carry with the Wendouree name.
