Virgin Lounge Menu

In SYD lounge for brekky yesterday and felt that perhaps some pastries and danishes would be a nice, simple addition. Oh, and was the only person in the upstairs area which was quite pleasant, whilst downstairs was quite busy. Word on the street is J Lounge for the 2nd level of the new extension.

ADL lounge for dinner last night and felt that perhaps the soup just wasn't enough. Now I know ADL isn't a major Lounge by any stretch (though whenever I'm there, it's usually tough to find a seat and table - even moreso to find a powerpoint!), but perhaps some kind of alternate dinner dish. Toasted sandwiches as an alternate do not a good dinner snack make. Maybe something along the lines of spinach and fetta pasties? Beef stroganoff? Lamb shanks? I know it'd have to be reasonably simple - but something heartier would be nice...

Thanks for the update (again) on the J lounge upstairs at SYD

I also agree that ADL/CBR need more dinner options (as does MEL/SYD)

All you can get at night in CBR is soup and a toasted sandwich.... which as you said is not dinner

Meanwhile in the Qantas J lounge.........

Can confirm Business and Platinum lounge going into Melbourne.

Do go on...?

Can someone ban this joker already...?

Please don't.
The constant toing and froing of pointless remarks provides some light entertainment.
Keep up the VA hate lovestotravel.
:)
Maybe he is just trolling and deep down he is a closet virgin fanboy.
;)

Don't have much more info than that. Will hopefully get my hands on some soon. Lounge to extend south and upwards.

There is nothing pointless about a lounge menu that has 2 items on rotation... :p

For this upcoming year so far
Qantas 22 flights booked
Virgin 3 flights booked

You decide who I am a fanboi of :p

I do actually!

J Lounge
IFE on the 737's

and I'd be back on Virgin

Qantas is "hanging around" but I still fear for their long-term survival on international.....

My view:Go to The Lounge for: coffee, toasties, nougats, sandwiches generally, 'specials' like party-pies hand-delivered, a contemporary and pleasant setting and generally a less snobby, self-important vibe.Go to the QP for cheese/cracker/dip selection, those macadamia slices and spirits if you want them.Otherwise the beer/wine offering is equivalent. Overall I prefer The Lounge(s) generally with an exception for Canberra which is my fave QP.

Would a J lounge likely allow Platinums to access even if not flying on J?

I would hope so... A premium lounge that doesn't allow in their highest Tier FF's... that would result in more people going back to GF.

In fact, they would be better of doing a Plat lounge and potentially allowing in Business class guests.

Was in the MEL lounge last week, around 0930. No pancakes? I haven't been in a lounge AM for about 9 months, but has the pre-1100hrs pancakes changed.

just toasties for late breakfast.
