Pesto, scrambled eggs and mushrooms on sourdough at SYD this morning. Not bad at all to be honest, I quite like this new "Cafe breakfast" offering!

Sourdough bread would be nice to have every time as a choice.
Instead of plain white bread or brown wholemeal.
Had sour dough with turkey one time in the Adelaide VA the lounge, nice, the fact they had sourdough, the turkey was great too, but sourdough bread, yum.

Re: the Aviators post, yep, (O/T:) I did try that hot dog from the red and white mobile stand on wheels, during one of my first ever visits to the Koru in Sydney, would have been a few years ago now, this was when the 767 still flew SYD - AKL with (Air)NZ.

In MEL lounge this morning. Left at noon and no sign of hot lunch unfortunately. Only soup on offer, although admittedly a much nicer setup/presentation than I’ve seen for a while. Two soup options (potato+leek and miso chicken and vegetable) with mini rolls in a multi-tiered bread basket.

Roasted cauliflower and cheddar cheese ravioli in SYD at lunchtime. Ravioli not unpleasant, but lacked any real favour apart from the sauce. There was also a soup.

Rather tasty pork (char siu style) ramen, with optional egg, in OOL for lunch today. Was rather impressed with the OOL lounge today actually. Couple of delayed flights so it was pretty busy, but they had three staff clearing tables, one on coffee and one serving ramen. Plus a little platter of melting moments out next to the usual biscuits near the coffee machine. Not bad for a small lounge.

Was then in CBR for dinner. Self-serve slow cooked beef brisket rolls. Quite tasty, though not so photogenic so didn’t bother

Probably not the right thread but I've been super impressed with the staff in the VA lounges this past fortnight. Incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient. Given me table service and just been fantastic. MEL and BNE.

Have to say we are pretty lucky with lounges and lounge staff in Oz in my experience. QF also very good in this regard, in my opinion.

I totally agree.

I find the service and offering quite good for a domestic product. We are spoilt!

On another note, was at MKY lounge the other day and they don't offer a dinner service.

One of my favourites - Penang chicken curry with rice at BNE this evening

Duck Tortellini and Potato/Leek soup at CBR this evening. Very nice and with a delay of 2 hours I might go grab some more

Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine at BNE this morning with sourdough toast instead of the round bagel I've seen previously in MEL and PER but no avocado as have appeared in SYD

Pork Noodles between 12:30 and about 2:30 (approx times)and then there was a beef brisket roll with tomato chutney at BNE.

BNE lounge 31/3

Karaage chicken with steamed rice.

Not rice but Kaarage chicken with Japanese slaw and mayonnaise at the SYD lounge tonight and wild mushroom risotto upstairs - leftover from lunch

8th July MEL dinner: a pork noodle soup they called “ramen”. The soup was too sweet, but the pork and greens were okay. I was transiting through Melbourne to Hobart and my second flight was delayed, so I was just pleased that I was able to take advantage of the lounge for dinner.

Another comfort food for winter
