You may have read recently that Virgin Australia systematically increases its "D" class Business fares 28 days before departure:

Did you know that VA also systematically adjusts its Economy X pricing based on the number of days until departure. They don't even hide the fact - on their Economy X webpage, they even have this disclaimer below the example prices:
For example, here's the seat selection prices on a SYD-BNE flight more than 180 days from now:

If selecting a seat on a flight departing in 28-180 days, the price drops (although, I have no idea why the middle seats are more expensive!):

Then, once the flight is less than 28 days away, the prices go up:
