Virgin Blue flight breaks down in ADL (13/5)

My Office Manager's best friend was due to leave ADL for BNE this morning at 9am (ADL time).

Seems that the airplane has gone unserviceable and they are waiting for either spare aircraft, or are being transferred to flights via SYD or MEL.

She just got an SMS from her friend to say it's 11.15am (ADL time) and still nothing definite on what time or how she's gettig home. On the phone to her now - DJ haven't been offferd any meal vouchers yet...suppose it will depend on how long they are on the ground.

Seems it's this flight:

Adelaide to Brisbane Flight DJ 1391 From gate 12
Fri, May 14, 2010
Departs at 09:20 (now it shows 11:45)
Arrives at 12:10 now showing 14:35)

Now she is being told it's cancelled :?: (hasn't been updated on DJ's Flight Information page yet). They are re-booking only those now with onward connections.

In that circumstance the $35 PAYG fee could be thought to be good value, mind you the lounge in ADL is very small.

Well...$12 on board would probably get you a sandwich and a water. Or a snack and drink.
