Thats quite interesting thanks...

Perhaps explains JQ, but not why DJ has taken a slide in OT performance this year, used to win easily now is average at best. Maybe they are utilising their aircraft differently in an effort to break out of the cheap and cheerful LCC mould??
I believe DJ have been struggling a little bit with cancelled flights over the past couple of months due to crew shortages caused mainly due to to crew training associated with the EMB jets..they have been caught abit short..some short term pain for the long term gain of growth I suppose
every Airline has problems from time to time but I'm yet to see the frequency of passengers left on aircraft for hours on end which has been common in the US over the past couple of months. Whatever inconienence we think our Dom carriers cause us a quick look to the US and prove how relatively lucky we are

Funnily enough after my whinge last week , a friend was in exactly the same predicament on a BNE-CBR DJ flight last night. Delayed 2.5 hours and given a $6 voucher. Wow-generous.

As another aside to my original post, when I spoke to a number of the FA's on leaving the plane in CBR (11.30pm) they all said they had to be up ready to go again at 0400 the next morning for their next shift. Anyone know about the legality of this with fatigue management/IR laws etc?

This would depend upon what arrangements DJ have made with CASA and the FA union. Often shorter turnaround times are allowed however they normally have some significant follow on penalties for the airline. i.e. extra time off
