What's the point of Platinum Plus?

So ... I'm just about to conclude a year of Platinum Plus status and can unambiguously say that the benefits compared to Platinum are a joke.

OK, you do get connected to an English speaking agent when you need to call, but beyond that ... Nothing!

Maybe I exaggerate, especially if you value a bottle of water and a chocolate at $20,000+. But I'll be happy to drop back to Platinum for next year and lifetime Gold after that.

I'm 3,300SC away from lifetime VA gold. I think that + lifetime QF gold will be my happy place.

I am just about to board my platinum plus qualifying flight. I am also life time gold. Not expecting anything more than already getting as platinum just trying to now work out family pooling and gifting platinum to at least get some benefits and not waste status credits.
