"Virgin Australia’s latest Airbus A330-200 has landed in Singapore on its way back to Australia.
The aircraft, registration VH-XFJ, took off from Toulouse at 2355 local time on Monday as flight VA9948 and landed at Singapore Changi Airport at 1841 on Tuesday, according to flight tracking website flightradar24.com.

Virgin was due to make an announcement in Singapore on Wednesday."

Im going to go out on a limb here and suggest that VA may announce today that they have leased an additional A332 & unveil their new J class product .

This will maintain their fleet at 7 x A332. If this does occur, there is a chance they might announce an additional International route that has been suggested . Either way, we will know mid afternoon.

Any room on that limb ..and given the announcement is out of Singapore today I'm thinking there will be no prize on offer for guessing the location of the new Int. destination.

With the Etihad Airbus A330-200 service on the 'Brisbane -Singapore- Abu Dhabi' route ending on June 1, 2015 when it becomes a non stop BNE / AUH service on one of the new Etihad 787-9 , VA 'could' do a Brisbane Singapore service with their updated J product ...... that new VA service would link up with some other SQ pairings when the Etihad Brisbane - Singapore legs goes.
All the 330's could of been refurbished by June to offer the consistent product needed ....yes / no / maybe?

That's interesting because I often fly SQ/Silk Air routes. If VA flies direct to Singapore and as they have a partner agreement with Silk Air, I would fly via BNE if I can use points to upgrade on VA metal.

Could they not do PER-SIN with the current rotation by sending an aircraft to SIN overnight instead of parking it in PER? Or am I missing the obvious here?

So VA which is allegedly Australia's second A-grade carrier is launching a brand new J seat which will be there flag bearer as they do not have an F product? Am I right so far?

And they choose to unveil this in Singapore which is a destination that they currently do not fly to on their own metal? Am I still right?

But they might or might not announce that they might or might not commence an Oz-SIN service at some future point in time? Am I still right?

Hmmm - interesting - is their home market of 20mil - Australia potential pax - not the place where their new whizz bang J product should be launched? Come on you marketing gurus what am I missing?

Well even the dogs are barking this one - but still waiting for the marketing gurus to explain How holding the unveiling of the new whizz bang / you beaut / greatest thing since sliced bread J seat in SIN is going to impress?

Are VA thinking the rest of the world will suddenly cancel all existing SQ bookings? Or if not it will erase any thoughts of the rest of the world contemplating SQs offerings to multiple Australian cities and with multiple daily flts to some cities and that instead they will say Hello Kitty - one VA flt to one Oz city / day max - let me at 'em!

Come on you experts - surely there is a logical common sense reason behind this - flesh it out for us mere mortals.
