Virgin Australia Delays/Cancellations

On Friday 5 December 2025, VA15, the 1510 hours BNE-DOH took off at 1600. B773 A7-BAE should arrive 33 late at 2318 hours.

VA1, the Tuesday 9 December 2025 SYD-DOH due to push back at 1550 hours was in the sky at 1654. B773ER A7-BEJ should arrive at its gate at around 2331 hours, 51 late.

Sydney rain isn't helping timekeeping on Friday 12 December 2025.

VA640, the 1035 hours SYD-CBR operated by Link Airways' VH-VEM, a SAAB 340B was yet to take off as at 1212 hours when it ought have arrived in Canberra almost 45 minutes previously.

Well it looks like 143 is cancelled and so is the return 146.

Flightradar24 has 8II removed from VA95 but VAs own flight status system still shows it for now.

Flight radar tends to automatically remove all subsequent flights after the cancelled one. Usually takes a while for them to reappear.

8II is still allocated to VA95.

It was an FMC that failed. Because the use of GPS approaches is mandatory into (and out of) ZQN they need both FMCs to be operational to commence the approach. Good idea to return to MEL in my opinion.
Cheers we’re off an hour late on 8II mainly due to the remote stand tow. Unrelated note internet is not working.

Guys - watching VA268 to MEL arrived CBR on time - VH-YIZ (737-8) at 1340 as VA267 BUT major unplanned issues - unknown delay at CBR as we speak!! Original departure time was 1425

Final result - swapped to VH-YQR and finally took off at 2041 for 2131 arrival at MEL instead of 1540!!! What a long delay for these passengers 😢

Continuing with Sunday 14 December, VA887 from MEL to SYD, the 1930 hours airborne at 1950 hours (B738 VH-YFV) seems to have had two missed approaches at SYD a few minutes ago.

QF650 has had a missed approach.

There are very strong southerly gusty winds at the airfield (to 76kmh) if a quick look at the BOM site is any guide.

UPDATE: VA439 from ADL to SYD (B738 VH-VUL) managed to land at 2115 hours.

FURTHER UPDATE: At 2122 hours, VA887 attempted for a third time to land but was not successful. It eventually landed at 2139 hours, so it will be 44 minutes late arriving at its SYD gate.

VA652 from PER will be dicing with the SYD curfew tonight - a 1515 scheduled departure became 1603 - currently over the Riverina with an ETA fluctuating a few minutes either side of 2300.
Aircraft VH-YID has been running late all day.
