It's been a little while since my last VA J flight, but from the photos posted it appears that a side plate is no longer provided for the cheese and crackers.
It looks very budget to me the whole plate. Rex looked better served on a cardboard trayIt's been a little while since my last VA J flight, but from the photos posted it appears that a side plate is no longer provided for the cheese and crackers. Not a major issue I suppose, but just another subtle degradation of the J experience. I like to remove the cheese and cracker from the plastic and put them on the plate (I also remember when that was how they were served). I'm pragmatic enough to realise that it is a cost saving which doesn't materially affect the meal.
Oh, I thought you meant fully open, taken out of the package and presented on a side plate, not like in your photo (which I have had plenty of times). That’s odd, as I always have had the cheese and crackers on a side plate.

Ah, no just sitting in a side plate, although as mentioned I remember the times when the packaging had been opened and placed on the side plate. I now understand your preference for no plate if you take the cheese with you.Oh, I thought you meant fully open, taken out of the package and presented on a side plate, not like in your photo (which I have had plenty of times).
I wonder if it'll be included in the business menu? I've made a separate comment for the economy changes that I saw. Virgin Australia updates Buy on Board Economy Menu.Mrs Jase is ecstatic that Hard Rated will now be available onboard
Nothing from the purchase menu is available complimentary to J class. Can purchase it.I wonder if it'll be included in the business menu? I've made a separate comment for the economy changes that I saw. Virgin Australia updates Buy on Board Economy Menu.
Ah all good, just knew a couple of the spirits were on both so wasn't sure if they were going to add it too.Nothing from the purchase menu is available complimentary to J class. Can purchase it.
Found that out on a Cairns -> Brisbane flight 2 weeks ago. Wouldn't let me have a couple of ginger beers. Pretty cheap considering the price i paid for the flight.Nothing from the purchase menu is available complimentary to J class. Can purchase it.

Considering VA don't allow special meals to be selkected, they certainly need to have meals with out meat to cater for a larger number of people. They do have the option to add meat to the vego meals.I have a return business class flight next month... Sydney to Brisbane, both departing around 9am. Breakfast looks rather good, just wish there were more meat options.
Funny enough it's the other way around at VA. People want the protein and not the non vegetarian. They had to add a side of protein because people got upset that all there was left was non veg.Considering VA don't allow special meals to be selkected, they certainly need to have meals with out meat to cater for a larger number of people.
