I've only had that maybe twice (probably flying PER-SYD) as someone who flies the Golden Triangle often. I prefer it without a plate as I usually take the cheese and crackers home with me.

I like to remove the cheese and cracker from the plastic and put them on the plate (I also remember when that was how they were served). I'm pragmatic enough to realise that it is a cost saving which doesn't materially affect the meal.

It looks very budget to me the whole plate. Rex looked better served on a cardboard tray

Ah, no just sitting in a side plate, although as mentioned I remember the times when the packaging had been opened and placed on the side plate. I now understand your preference for no plate if you take the cheese with you.
 
VA392 TSV-BNE, same dish as on the flight up with the generous serving of broccoli........ but this one actually tasted much better, it seemed to be hotter, maybe that was the difference?

Chicken tenders, not bad... not as good as some of the curries but it was a pass.

Found that out on a Cairns -> Brisbane flight 2 weeks ago. Wouldn't let me have a couple of ginger beers. Pretty cheap considering the price i paid for the flight.

I have a return business class flight next month... Sydney to Brisbane, both departing around 9am. Breakfast looks rather good, just wish there were more meat options.

Considering VA don't allow special meals to be selkected, they certainly need to have meals with out meat to cater for a larger number of people. They do have the option to add meat to the vego meals.

Funny enough it's the other way around at VA. People want the protein and not the non vegetarian. They had to add a side of protein because people got upset that all there was left was non veg.
