Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Nick came around not long after takeoff for early dinner orders, taken in the standard 1AC, 1DF, 2AC, 2DF. Options were exactly the same as my last flight, stir fried beef in black bean sauce with seasoned rice and bok choy or vegetable ragout cottage pie with roast vegetables. We took both options and I went with the cottage pie this time. Everyone got their first choice.
We had Nick this arvo on ADL-CBR and great service as usual. Also scored the same meal options as above and we both went the Beef in Black bean. We e had this a few times but this one was probably the best

In the lounge and on biz flights there is never any bacon any more! Is it due to religious sensitivities? There are still sausages that are pretty revolting.
In Malaysia I have had beef bacon and chicken bacon it's really good. They could do that. After all eggs and bacon are the standard cooked Oz bkfast.
I never rely on getting a decent feed on the plane and eat in the lounge. My husband takes sushi!!!

Does VA offer special meals? I don’t think it does, so the meals have to cater for everyone.

Not sure about the lounge but it definitely has ham, or did until recently - cost cutting more likely there if it’s gone.

There's bacon on one of the the current menu cycles onboard.

Lemongrass chicken on CNS-SYD today. Crew is lovely and proactive with refills of wine, coffee, etc. Appreciated a proper dessert over the chocolate bar you sometimes see.

Other option was a Cajun chicken pasta with optional pulled beef. I am in 1F and order was taken first with welcome as plat. From what I heard behind me, everyone got to choose their first choice.

VA 824 SYD-MEL 9AM Departure

Decent hot breakfast. Potatoes were somewhat crispy.

Chocolate hearts for Valentines Day were a nice touch.

Cabin Manager Tatijana was excellent.

How were the scrambled eggs in that one? I flew SYD-BNE this morning and they weren't particularly edible. The rest of the plate was good though.

As in the plate was more edible than the eggs??
Was the plate from Charlie and the chocolate factory.
I'm yet to have a J meal that's been THAT inedible, however what I meant was that the bacon, beans and potato rosti were quite nice. The eggs on mine had split and were left on the plate.
