Hobbs of Barossa 1905 Shiraz 2021, Barossa

Being offered by brokers in 3 packs. $85 per bottle

The 1905 plantings of shiraz on the Hobbs estate in Flaxman Valley have delivered in the excellent 2021 vintage. It's a concentrated, intense wine, packed full of pitch-perfect macerated plum, blackberry and black cherry fruits. Hints of cedar, vanillin oak, fruitcake spice, sage, chocolate bullets and roasting meats too, but it is that plush fruit that is the star.

The tannins are granitic and fine, there is freshness within and the length of flavour is superb. An excellent release for the Hobbsys. It'll cellar like a champ too.

Not quite sure why you would let us know about this without a direct link or a reasonable indirect link to the deal.
I saw it on my computer and moved quick to buy one bottle while in the same time posting here with my phone to let everyone know. Trying to be fast, I didn’t take the time to look for the link with my phone that could anyway be find straight away by anyone going to Vinomofo.com
It was a super limited deal where you have to be quick or miss out. My apologies to have tried to share the deal but not good enough for you.
Next time I won’t bother if it is to get this kind of reaction.

In the email I received Yangarra was mentioned. Have you seen any detail on this? Not a producer I have seen on VM before, but I have enjoyed the 2015 shiraz in restaurants a number of times.

If you mean Yangarra McLaren Vale shiraz, I haven’t seen them on VM. However earlier last year I bought couple of 2016 bottles from Langtons staff sale to try.

Kind of a perfunctory McLaren Vale shiraz without any “wow” factor. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t something to write home about. Purely my subjective view.

Thanks, Wiz. I was surprised to see it mentioned in the promo email so I'll keep an eye out today.

The d’Arenberg wine to be announced appears to The Dead Arm based on the clue which reads “if you were to get punched in the shoulder real hard, you'd have one!” But no clues on vintage.
