Vinomofo Wine Deals

Bethany LE Shiraz 2018 (see above) showing as $37.50 in 6-packs
I think I have the 2017 GR? Confusing myself

No one to split cases with at the moment, so have to be super picky if I'm stuck with a sixer.

Ooo nice. Got $50 referal credits too..

What's worth Mr Hanks? Any recommendations from the experts?

P.S I also accept recommendations from plebs like myself 😅

P.P.S Was contemplating this. I am certainly a novice with Burgundy but keen for something solid (and not pay $600++). With cashback offer (20%) and $50 worth referral credits it would come down to $59 per bottle. Pretty much the peak of my budget.

Have always thought these M&B wines way overpriced for what they are

Interesting they mention the vinification and ageing operations being carried out with reference to the lunar calendar. This is not something I read often, but would maybe be reasonably common practice?? Perhaps it's an 'old world' wine making thing?

Isn't that part of the biodynamic thing, burying rhino horn full of manure on leaf days or similar?

Yeah perhaps. I do like the little things with wine. With so much options out there, a lot of mass produced and made with not much love, this kinda caught my interest. Obviously it mainly comes down to taste and palate...
I’ll con my mate into sharing a case I reckon...think I talked myself into it 😂

Let us know if the Nightfall is any good. I couldn’t find anything about the winery or wine maker. Sounds once again like inflated prices for an overseas market.

FYI I got a bottle of the Jim Brand off a mate to try and found it bang for buck. Dry, large tannins, medium body, gentle oak and surprisingly approachable for a young Coonawarra wine. Very one dimensional at the moment however feels like it has potential to age and develop some complexity. A solid $30+ bottle. Didn’t have anyone to split a case with so passed on buying any more.

IMO this plonk challenges the $30 value equation , a very commercial drink and certainly not worth any more.
It will do for the purpose ( bbq/take out wine ) but I won't be knocking down the 'fo door wanting more ….

Damn! I bought six. Is the nightfall sufficiently not great to warrant a return?

Tastes vary and I prefer my plonk dry and austere.
This tastes to me like a heavily tarted up lowish grade base product.
Otoh, others may love it.. we are all different..
I am happy to keep it as a very expensive quaffer...
