Vinomofo Wine Deals

I didn't see Domaine Raymond Usseglio Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2019 discussed here, looking good value imho at $40 a bottle Vinomofo via ebay plus discount, having a 4.2 Vivino rating. Did anyone try this one?

Kinda put off by the stupendous RRP they made up, at a point that is higher than its bigger brother Pierre Usseglio. Also not keen that it seems to be a VM exclusive import, and knowing VM's purchase model is to buy excess stock and remaining vintages, that doesn't bode too well.

Having said that, for 40 bucks one bottle would probably be worth a try, but alas it's only in 6'es.

True, difficult to look at local RRP if they are the only importer.

Given wine import costs and taxes it seems to be a good discounted price for an imported wine which sells for similar price in Europe as current discounted price: https://www.wine-searcher.com/find/dom+raymond+usseglio+chateauneuf+du+pape+rhone+france/2019/europe

I'm still on the fence but may pull the trigger as I have never used Vinomofo's return policy so if not good enough for the money I may return it.

Mont-Redon CDP delivered, thanks to everyone who posted and confirmed the wine. Glad to finally get a decent deal from VM after long time.

Also, wines were not delivered with one of the cheap (and not at all cheerful) couriers but with AusPost. That’s a first for VM or maybe just shows how long I didn’t order anything from them :)

Apparently they have a USA-destined back label (and front label on a closer look at your pic), so probably a direct import (prob from Europe) by VM.
And VM have used Aus Post for at least a year. :)

From someone in the trade: "It's all legitimate stock. Came from the cruise industry in the US. Surplus requirements after the pandemic.
Good on mof_. Killer deal and very clever."

I'm 100% confident it's been offered before in the past and perhaps someone who has bought it can chime in...

Just curious, who's the importer for the bottle?

Apparently they have a USA-destined back label (and front label on a closer look at your pic), so probably a direct import (prob from Europe) by VM.
And VM have used Aus Post for at least a year. :)

Best case scenario. Worst case scenario is the wine shipped to the US or some intermediary port, sat on a dock for who knows how long and in what conditions before being picked up by VM and coming to Australia.
