Vinomofo Wine Deals

Cheers, any idea on how it drinks? Better value than the Vat 5?
No, I think the frogs do the style too well and I drink it too rarely to really try many Australian botrytised wines. 95 Halliday would suggest it's at least competent, at that price can't hurt to try.

If vivino gives this range a 3.8 average, in the words of Wozza that's a pretty fine score. How can you go wrong drinking a sticky anyway? You are not buying this for the subtle complexity of refined sugar, you are buying this to enjoy at the end of an evening of entertainment hopefully infused with great fermented wine juices? A coffee and a sticky? C,mon twelve bucks from Coonawarra. Will it be still called Coonawarra when the unwashed ones get PC ? Dunno. Don't care. Enjoy.

In a sublime tale of timing and tasting, a long week had me greeting a selection of reds on my small walk down the corridor of my domain and the pick tonight with some lamb, some freshly cut mignon tomatoes, some tzatziki and taramasalata and finely cut onion was one of Wozza's picks from years and years ago, the hare's choice ironscraper shiraz. Man it's good and i would not have known about it unless Wozza had waxed lyrically as to its attributes. Talk about over delivering, a bit different to a sales rep who stacks it on. The weally nice wabbits choice waxes wheelically with wadwever you are enjoying. Here's to that tip Wozza !!

Cheers, didn't think to check Vivino. Same score as Vat 5 and similar price. I'll stick to the Vat 5 with no risk. I used to buy it for $9/bottle at Uncle's wonder if it is still discounted

You can't go wrong with a sticky in the end.

Oops yes you can.

But just make it a noble one.

Oops can it ever be noble?

Yes of course, a little bit of aniseed makes it a black noble one. Seemed to be a bit bigger at the time but painless thankfully. A supurb sticky once again.

Rug introduced me to it BF and couldn't agree more, only problem is I've put any that I had in the cellar to the sword years ago, velly nice....

Took delivery of this: ShadowFax | Pyrenees Shiraz 2018 listed as BM Shiraz 2018 – Black Market Deal #34371 Opened one last night, typical Pyrenees shiraz, quite intense with dark plums and good length, drinking very well at this stage of the game, not unhappy with this one...
Interesting, Dan's has the 2015 on clearance at $19/bt, but vivino only rates it as 3.1. Has quality improved over the years?

To be honest having had a second bottle over the weekend the 2018 is better than OK but not quite as unified as I would have liked, I'm laying the other 4 bottles down for a few years and will revisit once rested...

Age can be kind not only to mere mortals like you and I but to fermented grape juice. With the advent of Stelvin screw tops, you would expect to wait three yo five years for a discernible alteration so in the interim, buy some more stock. I pulled out a 2012 David Traeger Verdellho that I remembered was a bit tarty and snappy about four to five years ago but thoroughly enjoyable, in fact supurb last week with no rough edges. Not homogonized to the point of blandness, just adorned nicely like myself in a penguin suit atteneting a deb ball where everything matches.
Makes a change of description from saddle, leather, bay fig etc doesn't it. Just a great set of Collingwood colours that in glass form still showed the fruit and varietal characteristics that has one yearning for another glass. Your pyrenees in a few years please.

Does anyone know if any of the BM heathcote shiraz options atm on VM are the Heathcote Estate? I remember from last time I bought it it was priced at $45, feel like it was over $20 though.

Any help would be muchly appreciate :)

None are Heathcote Estate.
The two (2015/2015) at $45 RRP are Sunshine Creek, the $50 RRP (2016) is Mitchelton Toolleen.

Thanks Red. Was hopeful but didn't think it would be so.

It was a while ago that they offered the heathcote estate. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the future

April 2018 for the 2015 vintage of Heathcote Estate Shiraz @ $22.50 and February 2017 for the 2014 vintage @ $22.50 according to a search on my Forum. None since, they are now part of Yabby Lake.

I received the 2010 Heathcote estate 2010 Shiraz as a present and had it June 20th. Just beautiful were my first two words, a tad sweet, full bodied, lovely berries yet still seems youngish. Rich. I don't say too many things when it's a beauty. A Fo wine i did thoroughly enjoy possibly to the same level two weeks prior was the Kangarilla Rd 'Devils whiskers" 2012 shiraz. I think it would have landed around the $18 mark and it was stunning. No more words for it.

Don't know for sure, but the vineyard was sold/bought in June 2015, so 2016 vintage could be from there. I bought this but haven't tried one yet
The Tatiarra cambrian shiraz went for $30. Be interesting to know if it's the same vineyard now producing a $50 wine ($25 black market). Or could it be up there with Caravan of Dreams?? Hmm tempted
