Vinomofo Wine Deals

Thank you. Different "cellar until" date on myCellars but the winery itself matches VM. As an aside, I did not realise modestly priced rieslings could cellar for such a time, which piqued my interest.

I find that rieslings need to be drunk either quite young (1-2 years) or getting on a bit (>8 years). Just love an aged riesling or chardonnay. While I have had quite a few corked old rieslings the stelvin seal has fixed that. Had a 14 yo stelvin seal Domain Day riesling the other night. Not an oustanding wine, but a lovely golden colour and it held my attention long enough to have more than half a bottle. (I try to limit myself). Great bouquet and flavour for a wine a paid about $2-50 for probably about 8 years ago.

Hello, anyone have a clue to today's BM Clare Valley Shiraz 2014
Black Market Shiraz 2014 - Red Wine | Vinomofo Australia
Probably.

But note the following:

2014 Spring Gardens Shiraz (very limited) - Woodvale Vintners

Shows a retail of $25. Vinomofo claim $35. Yet another example of the continuous lies Vinomofo comes up with?

Matches both scores by CM and JH. JH comments "from 25 to 35yr old vines". Starts to look like a definite match.

Black Market Shiraz 2013 - Red Wine | Vinomofo Australia

I'd be guessing Chateau Tanunda, but not so confident - can't find anything on the shiraz but this Eden Valley blend is RRP $300/bt

It might be Glen Eldon, but there is confusing (mis-)information in the VM listing. Is it Barossa or Eden valley? Both are mentioned. The 2012 Glen Eldon Old Vine Series Barossa Shiraz ($100?) scored 97 from JH who said drink to 2047 (mentioned by VM). The 2013 is $150 from the cellar door (but cheaper with wine club membership). Also matches on alcohol and "drink to" compared with the producer, and they are a 5 red star winery:
Glen Eldon Wines | 2013 “Old Vine Series” Shiraz (URL includes 2012 but links to the 2013).

I think the Glen Eldon is correct, that came up a while ago.

Has anyone tried the Abbey Vale Reserve Shiraz 2017?

Seems like I just lost my VIM status....and free shipping that comes with it. I guess going from 30 cases to 12 in a calendar year will do that. Now its likely going to go from 12 to ......

Like many of us plebs you'll have to wait for free shipping Friday's :)

Can't say that I've missed being a VIM. And in the scheme of things probably fortuitously helped to curtail my wine buying!

Maybe ask your broker for a Vinomofo status challenge if there is such a thing ... I just received an email asking me to order 1 case to extend my VIM status by 3 months. I only bought 4 cases last 12 months.

Apparently, they are “rolling out a new comprehensive loyalty program” soon.

Not surprised. There's plenty of competition. I was never a huge purchaser here but even mine have dropped off to very little.
