Vinomofo Wine Deals

Chalambar, well spotted. Seems pretty cheap too.

Halls Gap Estate 2015 Fallen Giants Vineyard Shiraz according to Wine Deal Tracker on Cellary

From memory the 2015 Chalambar was not just from the Grampians either. It was multi regional. Vinomofo says this one is single vineyard. Of course Vinomofo has made mistakes (often deliberately) with their listing previously. The alcohol content also doesn't match the 2015 Chalambar. It was 14.1%. Vinomofo says this is 14.0%. But again Vinomofo frequently make mistakes with their listings and engage in misleading and deceptive conduct. So based on this it cannot be Seppelt.

Hmm, would be an excellent deal if it was Chalambar, but the Halls Hap Shiraz looks pretty solid too. The 93+ from winefront for the Chalambar was from Mike Bennie not CM, so the Halls Gap does seem to line up better.

Not really. This is around the normal discounted price for this wine I'd see it at several times a year. Keep a look out for BWS clearances and you should see this wine for this price. If it was under $10 a bottle I'd say it was a good deal.

Can't bring myself to buy considering how cheap it was from cellar masters

I know. But I was overseas at that time and missed out on that deal. At around $13 a bottle for a wine that will cellar for 20 years I'm not complaining.

The Grove Estate Simply Nebiolo 2015 arrived a few days ago. Don't have much experience with this style, at first just seemed like a grunty pinot noir. After being opened a day or two it has opened up more floral and tannins have receded a bit, pretty tasty .
Vinomofo - Black Market Nebbiolo 2015 - Red Wine

Revisited the Kilikanoon Golden Hillside Shiraz Cabernet 2015, pretty tasty drop as well, although the Chalk Hill Grenache Tempranillo smashes it out of the park

Thanks again for all the tips from everyone, has led me to some tasty wines,

Cheers

Does anyone know the identity of this 2016 Heathcote shiraz, $60 -> $19.90?

Vinomofo - Black Market Shiraz 2016 - Red Wine

"It picked up a gold medal and 97 points at a secret wine show, and the previous release was given 96 points by James Halliday, so rest assured that you’re in safe, shiraz-soaked hands with this 5 red star producer."

I can't find the previous release in Winecompanion - no 96-point Heathcote shiraz in that price range from a 5 red star producer.

Possibly Galli Estate Lorenzo. VM have had Galli before

Thanks. That would explain why I couldn't find the winery (many of their reds are not listed as Heathcote on the Winecompanion site). If "the previous release" actually means "a previous release", then that might work (2014 got 96 from JH, 5 red stars, 2014 is $60 on their web site).
