Vinomofo Wine Deals

Wine Companion site only shows 2015 vintage as being 93pts, or at least I can't see a rating for the 2016 vintage...
Sorry my bad I have edited previous post. If you read secret deal 2016 shiraz McLaren Vale $48 $15 which is Haselgrove IL PADRONE you will see the standard lines used on Haselgrove products. And they always use the Black Horse . Cheers Rug

I agree this doesn't appear to be Haselgrove for this reason. They make it easy to identify when it is, especially with Dark Horse references.

I think Rug it's going to be case of adapt or perish in regard to the change to the site (insert old-fashioned smiley face) I'll still be stopping by but it might be as decs said a "deal-breaker" for some folks, jeez I've come to rely on this place for wine wisdom!

Actually I think the revamped site looks less
dated & out of the spare room. Though there's a lot more (intrusive) ads & scrolling :(. To stay on topic, am expecting
Chateau Sainte-Croix Charmeur Rosé 2016 & Tahbilk Museum Release Marsanne 2011 tomorrow. VM purchases have dipped this year but they do seem to be trying to offer a broader range. And my collection is such that I only grab what I want or really want to try. Most of that has come via VM - as others have said, 12 of averageness wastes space & joy, so am much more selective atm.

Yes SD the shock of the "new"! I'm hopeful that after a brief period of adjustment it will be onwards and upwards, VM has trotted out some pretty astonishing deals during my limited acquaintance with them even if they haven't quite fulfilled expectations of late, where else would I have had a chance to try a dozen of the Giant Steps Merlot for under $13 a bottle or the St John's Zinfandel for similar money?

I received a "heads up" on 9/09 about the MV GSM offer, clearly indicating it was Haselgrove The Switch, as I had bought the 2014 and 2015 previously. IMO, the offer on 11/09 is almost certainly this wine - code nos. match.
I enjoyed the 2014 (bought 3 cases), but not so the 2015, which I returned.
Took a punt recently on BLACK MARKET DEAL GSM 2016, discussed earlier and found to be Ulithorne Winery ANTIQUA McLaren Vale GSM 2016 750mL. Very nice fresh and spicy wine in a medium bodied style. May purchase more.

Where did you purchase the Marsanne from? VM? I must have missed it

Yes, through VM - I'd bought previous offerings including verticals of the 1927 & they informed me of the deal, so maybe it didn't feature in general sales. You could ask them if they still have some? One of Oz's unique treasures & a bargain at rrp but even better at 1/3 off.

I see VM are changing to AP for deliverys from the end of September and same day metro deliverys by Christmas.....

Hmm I recall a past post about AP not providing safe drop - I had a recent issue with AP & safe leave whereby delivery bounced because it was alcohol, despite my prior instructions at point of purchase. I may be wrong but maybe logging into AP will possibly allow safe drop to be activated providing there's no loitering youth (my paraphrase). I always found the previous couriers to be thoughtful & on one wet day shielded a delivery in plastic of their own volition , so I hope future deliveries don't mean me somehow collecting a delivery at my inconvenience ? #emojiplay

The previous provider delivered to my door, AP don't - its a 40 minute round trip to the post office for me to pickup.

As long as it's not the courier cellarone use. I cringe at that one with every order. 1 case of Reynella smashed and not informed, and the replacement case just left at the door for all to see even with no authority to leave (mind you cellarone tell me they will have an AP option soon too)

The article I read mentioned AP have been making changes to support Amazon's Australian launch, VM are jumping on the coat tails

Thanks for that! They (Oz post) have been falling behind in their obligations to customers in these challenging times as this quote from an earlier article attests
“In 2014-15 we received 5613 complaints about Australia Post, which was a 38 per cent increase on the previous financial year,” the report says.
The Commonwealth Ombudsman says Australia Post is the second most complained about entity in its jurisdiction, after social services, but notes its high level of public contact while delivering more than 16 million articles every day." from Paper cuts coming from Australia Post customers

Oh, I could complain about Aus post... and I will. A few months ago I watched a courier drive up to our letterbox (halfway down our driveway), and put an undeliverable card in the letterbox. As I walked towards the letterbox/courier they reversed away from the letterbox and drove away! Last 3 deliveries I haven't even received a card advising the delivery is at the PO to pick up... only find them after waiting nearly a month for them to arrive and asking at the PO
