Vinomofo Wine Deals

I recall WineMarket peddling some 2011 Block 5 cab - got very mixed reviews, with complaints of it being heat affected etc. Was VM also peddling the 2011?

They certainly were. Could easily have been heat affected, it had a pleasant nose with some nice secondary characteristics but the palate was overwhelmingly sour. I didn't even finish the bottle and returned the rest.

I would boom on the 2010 though but doesn't seem to be up on the VM site at the moment.

Wine Market Had the 2010 Block 5
I sent my VM 2011 Block 5 back as well ..very average
I also note that the Pertaringa has gone up $3 bottle....well..lol

Te shirvington 2013 Shiraz is still available,
has anyone tried it?, or have an opinion about shirvington as a producer?

Some queries on a couple of current offerings:

Is this a Giant Steps?

I assume this is Star Lane - has anyone tried it? Comments?

Broker confirmed Merlot is indeed Star Lane - being Merlot, not an easy sell.

They also have Star Lane Shiraz for $20 - bought a six pack.

Also confirmed Chardonnay is hand Picked, as someone guessed.

I've had the '03, '04, '05, '06 and '09 Shiraz over the past 18-24 months. It's your big SA Shiraz, done well. I am a fan (as is Robert Parker). I bought the 2013 - at $15/bottle you can't really go wrong if you like big Shiraz. Only question will be whether it's drinkable now.

Heard that Shirvington is going out of business, so might be a few more bargains available. Does explain the various back vintages that came onto the market recently.

Welcome aboard Perchy, I am just over half way through the 2012 from VM and it is drinking really nicely - may have to grab this

Edit; $16.20 before CR and Wish from DM

Thanks very much Steady! I love a GSM, but I'm on the fence with this one, purely because I've been finding mof_ missing the mark for the past few months...

Forgive my ignorance, but I keep seeing reference to this sweet little rorte involving Cash Rewards and Wish, but I don't understand what it is--would you please be so kind as to explain it to me? I'm fresh to the buying wine online thing, though I'm buying at an accelerated pace to make up for lost time!

I ended up getting a case of the 2010 Red Bike SGM--the export label for the Murray Vineyards Red Label SGM--purely because I had a referral code for $25 towards my first purchase with winedirect.com.au from a friend, so it ended up being $6.25 a bottle with free shipping! Couldn't say no to that!

Thanks for the response. I actually have a case of the shiraz but havent cracked a bottle yet! Yes it does read well, and I do like the blend.

The Kilikanoon Golden Hillside Shiraz is a nice, medium body wine. Nothing super special though.
