Opened another one last night, as it was sitting in the quaffer rack grinning at me.
This one is just drinkable but there is a big variation between bottles.

Considered leaving the other box of 6 to er .. mature .. but hoping bad wine will get better is a mug's game most of the time ...so the box is going back.

Suggest that you ask VM for a credit and tell them you are happy to dispose of the debris for no charge.
It probably costs them more to get it back than it's worth, tho they probably don't want to set a precedent.

Have done, twice already or is it three times? Tasfreight are pretty slack to put it mildly every time I need to get a pick-up, I even tried to get VM to put the hard word on them to collect the case when dropping off the Giant Steps but apparently that was too difficult!

Funny thing about VM is that I received the "in-store" credit for the bottles almost immediately (bit different if you want the dosh) and used it on the Giant Steps Merlot which is a bloody nice drop, but not sure about the return costs as a consideration. I can get Startack commercial rates where I work as an employee perk and it can be surprisingly cheap to ship stuff around if you have that arrangement, that plus the cobbled-together "salvation" cases probably ensures they don't lose out too desperately:)

Have been off VM for going on 8 months, then received an email about free shipping so logged on and somehow had $75 of credit in my account...a referral and some loyalty bonus?? Very strange.

Picked up the Pudding Stone SV, having been very absent from this forum and VM that's the only thing I remember seeing someone enjoyed...?

Can't complain at a $75 case of wine.

Sounds pretty darn good to me if not confusing! Didn't see the Pudding Stone crop up but haven't been paying attention to VM much, is this current and if so do you have a link? Cheers, W&D

I think it was ok . The haselgrove gsm which I got for the same price after coupons and Amex was much better imo.
7/10 for the churchview

Thanks for reporting back as quite a few peeps hit the boom button on that one....

I thought wrongly it might have been one of the VM mystery wines so I could have done my own search, sorry! Had the 2009 and enjoyed it greatly particularly at that price point :). The intrepid Halliday gives the 2010 vintage in the Southern Fleurieu an 8/10 and the 2009 a 7/10 so could be excellent!

I agree with your score - no wow factor this time - on par with a lot of the better wines I have purchased in the last few years - seems VM are running out of wow wines

For those using the Wine Companion site to help identify mystery wines, be aware that the Search facility is currently unreliable. The workaround is to use broad terms and spend the time working through a longer list of options. This is the response to my email to them.

"Hi there,It would seem that your indexing facility is broken/defective, see attached snippets." (attached snippets showed the entire 2015 vintage missing from the selection list and other issues)
