Vinomofo Wine Deals

Hi blackcat20 - I had a few brokers over a year or two and have been dealing with Nicci for a while now (on 03 90210341) who has looked after me pretty well. Doesn't hassle me and calls when stuff I have an alert on comes in.
I dont seem to have one anymore after going through 4 in a matter of months.

Cork closure. Why risk it? I'm going to guess this was originally destined for export.

You can get amazing Riesling at bargain prices at the best of times anyway.

After an initial ordering mix up, this turned out to be Silkwood "Premium" Dry Riesling, under Stelvin. Can't say I've heard of it but it does get 94pts from Halliday. Price online everywhere is $25, so the $30 RRP is a bit miselading...

Good to know, thanks. I've had a few good ones but they seem to move on pretty quickly.

Turns out the SV is actually fully sold out. I was too slow to click "buy" after getting it into my cart :-|

More important than any of that. Do you like it? :)

It's definitely dry, and there was another word I've been trying to think of that describes it....I think that word is "sour". They are going back.

At $12 a bottle I suspect that this will be another quite decent bargain from Madeleines (fairly scant info/reviews online unfortunately and can't see the Tony Keys reportage at all) but, I must admit that I'm sorely tempted to trade in the Lagrein I got recently from VM for a dozen of this Cab Sav....

Didn't like the Lagrein ?
Not surprised.. it is different...

Too true tgh, I consumed a bottle over three nights and it changed and I guess softened during that period, it's a decent drop, it has an acid crunch when freshly opened that I haven't experienced in a red before but wasn't quite as complex or pronounced in it's flavours as I had hoped for. Not a bad wine per se but my palate's probably skewed more towards shiraz or merlot, I certainly wouldn't say it isn't worth a spin for other AFFer's....cheers, W&D

Anyone got any ideas on the latest McLaren Vale 2014 Shiraz $45 down to $22.50.
I am hoping it is Sameul's Gorge but this is cork and the VM states screw ???

If it was Samuel's Gorge I'd be jumping on it, pretty sure their wines are all $40 RRP though
