Anyone ever got a salvation box?
Yeah - I got one a few months back, and it had a couple of decent bottles in, but apart from that, nothing spectacular. Hewitson Mad Hatter was the expensive bottle, but can't remember too much else off the top of my head. I think a Fox GOrdon Bros and Sisters Sauv blanc (I thought was pretty average, but I'm not into SB's that much), a riesling that I haven't popped yet but might be interesting. The reds didn't blow me away - some different varietals in there to try, but so far a bit meh. Still, a good taste tester to broaded your horizons a little.

Any recommendations fellow vino lovers? Haven't been checking this page of late, 12 hr days does that.

You may have some or all of these already, but I would say:

- the Innocent Bystander Mea Culpa: https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/mof_-secret-deal-shiraz-2012-Oct-21-15

(that's my top pick for quality versus price on current offer)

- the Hewitson Mother Vine: https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/mof_-secret-deal-shiraz-2013-20cd545b

(I have just put an order in for another case of this one - power and finesse, but without too much Barossan bash your head off fruit)

- the Seppelt Chalambar Shiraz: https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/seppelt-chalambar-shiraz-2013-5aed5cf6

(good wine for the price - a nice mid-weeker for under $20)

- the Seppelt St Peters: https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/seppelt-st-peters-grampians-shiraz-2013

(not tried this one, but the critics are giving it excellent scores, if you are in the market for a medium premium priced Shiraz)

And for the Whites:

- the Oakridge Barkala Ridge: https://vinomofo.com/wines/white-wine/oakridge-barkala-ridge-yarra-valley-chardonnay-2013

(not tried this or the one below, but see they are getting some good scores from the critics)

- the Devil's Lair Margaret River Chardonnay 2013: https://vinomofo.com/wines/white-wine/mof_-secret-deal-chardonnay-2013

Hope that helps, Rocket09. And I hope you get some reprieve on the work front. Sounds intense.

I do recall someone "wishing me luck" building this table, but it does come in handy from time to time :)

I started doing a google doc of it but lost track when I was trying to cut down my buying a bit!! Well done!

If ever there was a day to blow next months food budget and drink nothing but Vinomofo wine, today is it !

Ever get the feeling that VM have gone dry, time and time again, yet they come back with offerings such as todays ?

Enough is enough. If VM keep this up, the kids will not be getting traditional Christmas presents. They will be looking at me on Christmas morning, eyes like bloodhounds asking "Hey dad, why can't I open this box that says 96points Pack 4.0 for ten years dad, why dad?. Ohhhh my !

And you thought explaining the facts of life was going to be difficult.

Just found out I won ebay tix to see def leppard...originally 128 each. one bid, 65 each...now to tie this into vinomofo, what wine should I drink before I start singing -Pour Some sugar On Me ???

Saw them 3 years ago, paid $172 a ticket and they were amazing.

I would suggest one of my (take a punt) purchases from Grays Wines:

acj_pack 2.jpg

It turned up with all this heavy metal on the front, as you can see from the picture. One wine critic said triple decant it and leave it at least a day!! Halliday said approach it with caution and respect in 2025 (15 years after bottling)!!

So this would be my pick (and they are back on sale on Grays) ...

Excellent choice Wozza, very fine looking bottle. Now after drinking a bot of this 'heavy metal' wine, I don't think I will be as 'armless as the great drummer Rick.......geeze he's good. I took my trusted Nikon in last time and the shots were terrific.

Other two were:
Ulithorne Familia 2014
Warramate (white label) 2013
plus (as I think we know)
Pertaringa Shiraz Mataro 2014
Star Lane 2013
Golden lion 2014

not blown away by these, but the golden lion i am interested in matching up against the 2013 i already have! Thoughts on the rest?

I quite liked it, a nice mclaren vale wine. Peppery, mocha with a dash of blackcurrant. Pretty good for $20 a bottle! The blanche point was equally as good, more violet in colour, both wines with good tannins.
