Vinomofo Wine Deals

Sadly I missed out on the straight Shiraz and straight Cabernet. Hoping they might reappear at some stage.

There are two brand new wines up today, Cabernet and Shiraz. I have done a bit of searching but no luck. Anyone got any ideas? Glad to have something new!

I found 17 five star wineries in Mclaren Vale - I could not find one with a $40 2014 shiraz - might be by search technique ( i was hoping Pertaringa Over the Top) or from spiel may be a Haselgrove ( but not on their website)

Try searching for 2013 shiraz, a lot of wineries release their new vintages at about this time and they might not be on the site yet

The one I ordered yesterday is definately the Fox and Hounds - my second dozen, unfortunately not all for me.
You should be fine. Enjoy the hunt ;)

Yes, it just arrived, so looking forward to tasting. Their delivery times have been consistently good, only ordered this one on Tuesday.
Now just need to order a good sparkling!

I was going to throw Parous in the ring, since I bought a 2010 McLaren Vale Shiraz of theirs from VM with a RRP of $40. However this clue might discount it: "a five star producer that have been raking in high scores and accolades for both their wines and their ambitious new direction." Perhaps something from Rosemount?

Parous came in 6 packs though, didn't it?

Edit: Looking at previous Pertaringa Over the Tops - they've used diam corks, not screwcaps. So, unless that's changed this year, that might count against it being the Over the Top.

Edit2: Haselgrove Catkin is $40/bottle, but the last vintage was 2012, so I'm guessing that's not it either - we should be seeing a 2013 out now.

I thought the Cab Sav could be the 2011 Saltram Mamre Brook Cabernet Sauvignon - But they've had it on before.

Both a bit tough today.
Maybe Haselgrove, Five Geese or Ekhidna for the McLaren vale.
Pertaringa (Wines by Geoff Hardy) is now 5 red stars.

Closest match I can see for the winery for the Barossa Cabernet (70+ year operation) is St Halletts, started in 1944, so maybe Reward Cabernet or one of their many special "grower" bottlings. But even at $12 I'm not too interested in a 2011 vintage Barossa Cabernet.

Saltram doesn't really fit the winery details, it's much older than 70 years.

The Pertaringa shiraz 2013 was one of the VM Wine Club bottles, and some of their other varieties do use screw caps

Which Pertaringa shiraz? Over The Top? That's the only one that's RRP $40, and whilst some of their other labels use screwcap, the Over The Top doesn't (unless they've changed it for this vintage)

Yep, the Over the Top. It's in the Wine Club August 2015 tasting notes. As I say, although the shiraz 13 has a cork some the other Pertaringa varieties use a screwcap so it' wouldnt be too far a leap to go to screwcap for the shiraz.

I bought some shiraz - its haselgrove - but not one presently listed on their website - uses some of the better quality grapes as they are not making some of their top of the range stuff because of the year and conditions. Ambassador is made with some of the grapes

Pertaringa over the top $40
Nose
: The nose offers elegant aromas of cherries, raspberries, violets and dark chocolate with hints of black pepper.
Palate: The palate is complex with aromas of dark plums, black cherries, violets and black forest cake. This is a rounded and balanced wine with structure and powdery, rich tannins from the French oak.

Might match 'Palate rich but BALANCED' & 'beautifully BALANCED oak'.
However the Pertaringa appears ot be cork not screw cap and % al wrong but this would not be the 1st time this has happened.

I do like Pertaringa and if I could confirm would buy some but presently have way too much wine at home and if I buy any more could have tongue lashing type consequences with my wife.

You are looking at the 2013. The VM offer is for some 2014 label
