Vinomofo Wine Deals

Also the Harewood Shiraz/Cabernet 2012. Maybe I was expecting too much with this blend especially from Western Australia. Then again, you have to try something differnet. We all love South Australian blends of this but initially I found it a bit underwhelming. Nothing nasty, but not as full and juicy. I thought, it was only a twenty one dollar wine after all, a quaffer from the fo for about a tenner. Once I had it with food, it really lifted to another dimension of flavours. It was still a little thin for me but made in a French style it probably is a reasonable example of that. I did end up liking it, but since 8 of the case were spoken for, I felt pretty good. This is better than a quaffer, but it did make me think that spending 2-3 dollars more on a thirty five bucker is probably a better investment. Still a nice wine though.

I've been drinking a bottle of the Harewood s/c over 3 nights. Overall impression is good but not amazing. I'm not really a huge fan of this blend and at first it underwhelmed but over time it opened up and I'm happy with it for the price. Also had the Pemberley SB 2013 - this I love. Made in a french style (on lees) and its a great alternative to a chardy and good to get away from NZ style.

It seems the general consensus is that the Capel Vale Cab Sav 2013 is a decent wine and worth the $9.90 a bottle. How does it compare to the Hay Shed Hill 2013 that was offered recently?

For anyone who may not have noticed, VinoMofo have increased referrals from $25 to $50 per person. They've also listed out WHO you refer, and you now need to click on Account (top right) to see how many credits you have. It doesn't look like a limited offer, though it might be a good time to refer 'loved ones' from your own accounts who haven't ordered yet!

Since I had the very post in the referral section about VinoMofo, I've created a new one - for those of you who haven't already made first orders, it's here if you need it to start your wine buying addiction with $50. :)

Cheers!

I have a couple of friends who have signed up recently with my referral, but have not bought yet... Will they now get $50?

You don't "get" $50 per say. It's $50 off their first purchase. Once they make a purchase, you receive the corresponding credit.

I picked up a Capel Vale 2013 cab sav in a mixed pack in May and quaffed it last week- it is quite good. I just purchased 2 dozen, some for now and some for later- Can't lose at this price :)

VM have also released their new Duck Sauce pinot... Anyone bought? I wasn't a huge fan of their last one, but Steve Webber (usually) makes a mean wine.

Any ideas on the 2012 Malbec Blend today?

It will be the Capel Vale cellar exclusive, I bought the 2011 a few weeks back and was a sensational quaffer, some may think it a little sweet, but goes down way too easy. Thinking i will buy 2 cases of this one .
