Vinomofo Wine Deals

Let me just say flyinfish that we all have different tastes. Why should you be disappointed when you haven't even tried it. I don't mean to be tough, but I did say it was good. Maybe you and I desire the sweeter molecules and as AC described, it's the style....now, that leads me to the Churchview wines from west oz. Did anyone buy any ? I absolutely loved their gsm, I think it was their st johns range. before buying it, I shot of an email and got the most wonderful of replies describing how their winemaker wanted to make it a little different to the standard Australian style. Rhone was distinctly mentioned by the manager, and it is probably the case that the rosemount is a much drier style of gsm than the st hjohns was. nevertless flyinfish, they are all very good wines. To the chardonnay from churchview, absolutely remarkable and as one good mate that I shared a bot with, possibly the best chady he has ever had. Big statement, great wine none the less. Now for the Churchview piece de resistance, their late picked Riesling. I cannot believe that an eight per cent, late fermented Riesling could ever taste this good. dollar for dollar, this is the pick of the 3 I have bought, but they were an amazing triple treat....could be the cold, but I pulled out another..as you do....the landings cabernet sauvignon 2012...for a wine that has mixed reviews on the net, I loved it. Not an absolute stunner, but I would be more than happy to pay $22 for it.....as it is, about a twelve bucker from memory. Go Djokovic !

Always good input Beefarmer. I must of missed the Churchview whites, were these a secret deal?

Anyone given the Starvedog 2005 bubbly a go? I know it hasn't shipped yet but thought someone may have previously tried it...

I received a box of Bayliss Road Black Label GSM 2014 the other day and sampled some.

I have to say I was not very impressed. The finish tasted like alcohol - not a very nice after taste, especially for a RRP of $28. Not much going on, pretty boring wine really. Even after leaving it for a few hours to open up in the decanter - no change.

I am comparing this to the Maverick Twins GSM which was SMASHING! :)

Has anyone else tried this one? Is it just me? Are my taste buds off?

Also, anyone know the difference between the above wine and Vinrock McLaren Vale G.S.M. 2014? Both are Vinrock.

Thanks.

I thought the Bayliss Road Black Label GSM was a bit average too. I felt it improved in the decanter for a bit though.
Not too bad, but probably the least impressive wine I've bought from VM, including the ones my mate and I trade. Yet then again, I have had plenty of worse wines.
If I bought it for the RRP I would be a tad upset.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am going to return mine because I have had some amazing wines from VM before and this really wasn't one of them. Cheers.

agreed, the maverick gsm is a beauty, better than their cabernet blend, which is very nice. Here we have the issue of seasonal variation.....reviews of the 2013 are good......the two reviews of the 2014 seem very disappointing.....that,s mother nature for you

Really? It definitely is not worth returning in my opinion, still better than anything else you would pick up at the local bottleshop for $10. True, not a great wine, but were you really expecting a something akin to a Head GSM or Penfolds 138?

There isn't anything wrong with it at all - it just wasn't as good as the other wines I have had, which have all been great.

Maybe it just needs a little more time to come into itself.

Sorry if I've missed this one (been in Spain drinking all the Rioja) - ideas the McLaren Vale Shiraz 2014 @ $8.40?
