Vinomofo Wine Deals

I agree somewhat Beefarmer. The Fox is great wine in both shiraz and cab, tried the Golden Lion last night after your recommendation and nice wine but a little sweater than I would normally like hoping this might settle down with some age. My preference is the Fox.

Thorn-Clarke Shotfire Quartage fits the alcohol percentage, Halliday rating and RRP.
The quartage has been for me a pillar of consistency through the years. I simply love it and it offers incredible value. I have nearly the whole vertical going back to 2001 lying down and have been an obvious avid admirer. Interestingly, I would have half a case of the 12 but I am yet to try it. Reason being is that there is so much other wine at much easier physical access. I think it has found a nice steady place way way back under the house. The 2006 quartage, besides being talked about one time as some critics top 100 in the whole universe in one particular year was, and remains for me, absolutely remarkable. For the price here, if it's still on offer, it's good. Now here's my honest opinion. If I could buy a shotfire for 14, that normally sells for 28 or a golden lion for 15 that's normally 50 or a hannahs swing for 15 or whatever I paid that is 49, if the shotfire was as good as the 2006, it wins. All three were very good, but we all know how one great vintage sticks in your mind. So based on breeding, you cannot go wrong with any of these three. Three hours later last night, the hannahs swing was even better. the berries were now coming to the fore and it was beautifully integrated. having it with mince filled peppers was a great combo as well.

New Vinomofo secret deal Coonawarra Cab Sav 2012 at $31.50 from $70. I think this is the Lindemans St George, it has been selling for this price elsewhere (and less at winemarket - $25) and satisfies the criteria. I bought some from WM but have not tried it yet to vouch for it.

Read this elsewhere, not sure what it means to quality ?
The reason why the 2012 is being dumped? Put that down to ordinary marketing and loss of identity, which combined with a low production run isn't exactly an appealing combination to the major retailers/grocers - they have been slow movers for a while, I guess someone had to make the tough call to get them moving out the door again

The Iconic Secret Deal 2012 Cab Shiraz (V&A Lane) that I ordered 2 weeks ago is finally on its way :)

Yeah, you've talked me into it! I've had most vintages of this but never cellared any. With a dozen, that should be possible :)

Two weeks!? Wow I thought I was being impatient having to wait 1 week! What's happened to Nexday, they used to be so quick. I'm glad yours in on its way at least

That makes sense because posted at the same time was the Vinrock Bayliss Road Black Label GSM 2014.

thanks but think I will pass on. A good quaffing McLaren Vale Cab Sav would go down a treat but not sure if this fits the bill.

It's not the courier, it's Vinomofo that's got the problem.

Too many orders to keep up with maybe. Oh well, a forward thinking approach of ordering before I actually want the wine may have to occur in the future

VM said it was backordered when they put it up and noted that deliveries would commence down the track.

Nexday is very slow here in Perth, i'm still waiting on my Glenlofty, they tried to deliver it on Wednesday but I wasn't home, phoned yesterday to rearrange and was told it couldn't be until it was returned to the depot as apperently it was still on the van, looking at the tracking using the number on the card they left me it should be out for delivery again on Monday, who needs a cellar to age wine ;)

It was bought on the 14th June, there was a delay before dispatch.
Using the tracking the consignment was created on the 18th, picked and dispatched on the 19th, arrived at the depot and awaiting allocation on the 25th, first attempted delivery on 1st July, phone to re arrange on the 2nd, expected completion on 6th July.

So not all problems are with Vinomofo here in Perth.

Yes, before I ordered it on the 20th June I knew it would not be available until 25th - on the 25th I got an email saying;

Secondly, we just wanted tolet you know we've had a bit of a delay with this one leaving the warehouse. Weexpect this should be dispatched tomorrow. We'll get it on the way to you ASAP.

Tomorrow being the 26th.

It was just dispatched today - another 7 days after the revised date.

I am not in a hurry for it, I was just making a comment - I think BC20 is also waiting on the same wine.

I think what's up with Nexday is that they are so busy delivering all this plonk that VM folk have ordered. Over deliver and under achieve is one motto. The longer you savour, the better the flavour is another. Time for my lithium tablet.

I am also waiting for this wine. But in the interim I've had plenty of other stuff delivered as, both from VM and Langtons. I don't think it's a Nexday problem. VM knew there would be delays in shipping out the wine and i guess whatever the source of those delays were, they were more than expected.

Following all this discussion about the V&A Lane I've cracked one I purchased earlier. :)
