Vinomofo Wine Deals

Looking at the Alpha Crucis website the cellaring says 10 years (from 2012) so that's another match for it as VM says 2022.

My guess is the Chalk Hill Alpha Crucis. But the alcohol and cellaring are off, everything else matches. Maybe the Fo are trying to throw us off. Hamilton price doesn't match and they quote the winecompanion price. Other possibility is Chapel Hill, The Vicar.

Price. Cellaring and Alc are all off (http://www.alphacruciswines.com.au/files/dmfile/JamesHallidayReviewMarch2014.pdf).

Also, I'd hardly claim this about this winery:

'Made by the exceptional hands of a well-known 5 red star producer and crafted using old vines, this is a flagship McLaren Vale Shiraz '

The alch % is wrong.

What about Geoff Merrill Reserve shiraz right $ but wrong % and cant find too much info on it.

That review is a different wine. Not talking about the winemakers series. just straight mclaren vale shiraz. Price is correct in winecompanion. Still an issue of alc % though

Thanks Doc,

On your recommendation I just bought a Poonawatta, Vinomofo should put you on their xmas mailing list. I have too much wine and was intending to not purchase anything for a wee while unless something special came up so Vinomofo can thank this social intercourse for more sales.

Hey I am first to post asking about the Poonie Wattie.
I should also be in Santa's mailing list. :) :p
Like you I am tossing on getting some but have bought Hewitson Mad Hatter, Anver's Warrior, Wolf Blass Brown Label, Essenze Pinot Noir (latter 2 from Dan Furphy) in the past few days.

Sorry Jason, would you like me to put in a good word on your behalf.
I also got some brown label off DM after the good Dr put us onto it, tried one and said wow gotta put this away for a while, ballsy shiraz.

It's not that. If you go and look at the results from the Sydney and Melbourne wine shows, it's be relatively easy to work out what it is, as there weren't many that scored that particular combination.

Great first post sanpat.

I'd say it definitely could be. But if so it makes the Vinomofo price seem very expensive, especially given that the 2010 is available at DM for only a few dollars more + the fact that you are locked into 6 of them from Vinomofo.

It's seems that this really isn't a $75 wine and for that reason I'm out. Far too many other much better value wines on offer.

The 2010 vintage didn't even get a rating at the Melbourne show.

It definitely is what Sampat posted - one of the few red varietals to get 95 points at both Sydney and Melbourne wine shows. RRP price matches as well, as does JH review score.

Please do as we are in the revealing game.
As it is I can't "see all the clues" on the Rosemount Balmoral.

VM don't have a conundrum, you do Buzzard. The fruits will always flow into a nice oak barrel and so long as someone sees a barrrrrrrrgain, wine will always be sold. Price is what you pay, value is what you get.

Hi Frequent Flyers,

Please feel free to contact us directly to by phone on 1300 846 666 or email to check availability of wine you've enjoyed or if you have any questions.

While we can understand that guessing the identity of Secret, Black Market and Contraband Deals is half the fun, please be aware that these deals need to stay secret, or we risk not being able to offer them in future.

Our producers supply these wines to us in these formats so it won't affect sales of the product in other channels - and understanding that we're not the only wine retailer, we agree to do our best to keep that secret. Yes, having the identity revealed would be beneficial for sales in all cases, but we want what is best for our customers in the long term, and that's by maintaining our strong supplier relationships. It's not in anyone's interest to jeopardise a wine producer's livelihood by adversely affecting their other sales.

Please see the wording from our site Terms and Conditions below.

"One of the most awesome things about Vinomofo are our secret and black market deals - these are deals so epic, wines so awesome, that the only way we can get them is by agreeing to keep the identity of the wine and the producer secret. We ask you to keep that secret with us. Please don't post it anywhere, even if you are super-excited about it."
This way, we'll all get to keep enjoying them. If we blow it, we won't be able to get these deals anymore. So let's work together, and respect our agreement with the producers of these awesome wines.

So please enjoy guessing, enjoy buying, enjoy referring each other, but if you could respect the producer and their wish for their wine's identity stay private on a public forum, both the producers and we will be most appreciative.

Cheers!

One of the most awesomely annoying things about VM, is that when looking at my account, my orders only show up as the most awesome Black Market Deal, the absolutely awesome mof_ Secret Deal and the mof_ Contraband Deal.

As I have deleted my order tracking emails I have no idea what I purchased from VM, which make it a little tricky to call and enquire if there is any more available.

Accounts with other wine merchants show full details on my purchases.
