Reschke RSR again?
A few bucks cheaper here

Thanks, yeah they did send that out a week or so back didn't they :).

I do find deciphering the various different Reschke ranges a little tricky though and working out if it's twice as good as some of their other ranges to justify the price point. Anyone here have input?

Matter of personal preference. I've had the $12.50 range and the $25 range. For me the $12.50 range (which is the 2013 I think currenly) is my go to. Excellent value for money. In short I don't think this current 2014 is worth twice the price, but others may have different views.

Ta :). Yeah, I've tried the Bull Trader, the "Coonawarra Cab", and Rufus cellar releases which all ended up around that pricepoint and they were all great for the price especially at the age they were released. I haven't tasted their "higher end" ones though like the RSR. I do have a 6er of the Bos '09 stashed away, so I should give that a taste sometime to compare, though not sure how the Bos fits in vs the RSR.

From their site they say the following:
R-Series (haven't seen): "Minimal intervention winemaking <snip> wines are bottled while young, fresh, and vibrant. Well suited to early consumption,<snip>."
Bull Trader = "The Reschke ‘Bull Trader’ collection is a versatile range of wines, a step-up in terms of weight and complexity from the R-Series."
Vitulus (bull calf): "Skillfully crafted to drink well at release and reward those with patience from a short stay in the cellar."
Bos (bull): "Full-bodied complex wines with structure, generosity and persistence."
Empyrean (haven't seen): "A rewarding, heavenly like wine, mature, refined, complex and ever evolving."
RSR (Special Reserve): "Limited-release that has been crafted specifically for friends and family of Reschke." Single Vineyard

Think much of it is just marketing words to justify the price differences?

Agreed with the '13, the amount of tannin definitely defied the age (or apparent age). That would be pretty serious though lying about the vintage.

Had a 2012 RSR the other night with the cheap agglomerate cork. Cork was so clean you'll think it's a year old. Either they store them standing upright or it's freshly sealed. I believe the latter.

TBH - wine was half decent (bigger wine) but for the price I much prefer the Reshke Bos offered a year ago. So much more balance and complexity.

That's a little suss now isn't it :/. On the CW Wines site, for the 2013, it says "cellar release", which implies that it should have been bottled quite a while ago...
That's good to hear re: the Bos. I'm looking forward to trying it now :)
