"Made for mof_". Used to be "Art of War - The General, 2012 and 2014 made by Kym Teusner.

Hentley Farm make some pretty good wines, usually "fully priced" for the quality, never been tempted by this though. Only one report on my Forum, for 2012 vintage "cracking wine" but probably no relevance to this offering.
The 2012 was absolutely sensational, hands down one of the best value/quality wines at that price and reflected in Vivino with 4.5 stars.

The 2016 is good, not quite as good as the 2012 (IMO) but goes very well. It's a different maker and potentially different region...I bought 6 bottles of both and am holding back a few of the 2016 for laterz. Unfortunately the 2012 is all gone from my house.

At $30 per bottle it is good value, however with the recent amount of quality wine flooding the market at heavily reduced prices perhaps it's now not so tempting.

From todays email:

Could this be the Amelia Park Reserve Shiraz? Halliday rating, Frankland River fruit (but doesn't say the winery is there) in the hands of a 5 star red winery, also screwcap. Also notes barrel aging in french oak which matches up.

the 'waited 10 years' thing ties in well also as they've long stocked the Amelia Park Ironstone Shiraz but don't recall them ever getting their hands on the reserve shiraz.

Only thing off is the alc.vol. of 13.8 vs the manufacturer stating 14.5

I ended up buying it to try, will report with my findings
Look forward to your assessment. So far enjoyed Matrix and ACJ which were recommended on here (and I am going to try and keep the remaining bottles), and the Ironstone Grenache and GSM have been hits

Any good?
I haven't had this vintage but it's a very good winery and the wine is usually top notch. Rumours abound that their grapes went into some of the best wines from MR, and post-acquisition those other wines have suffered (grapes now being re-routed).

Although, this is beside the point for the wine in question as it is under the old label.

2017 is a difficult vintage for MR, I have experimented and found some wines to be VERY average (e.g. Woodlands top label), others are great (e.g. Mosswood, Woodlands Margaret). I think the WG Grace would be good, but VM has previously offered the 2018 which would be exceptional. If that's still on offer, take it.

I picked up a heap of the 2018 Heydon WG Grace having always been a big fan of the winery, this particular wine and I love their cellar door at Heydon. Their site is slap bang in the middle of prime MR terroir. The WG Grace has always had a great pedigree as a flagship MR Cabernet but the 2018 is in a much different style and took me by surprise. It's a much lighter style of Cabernet much like the so called 'luncheon claret' style produced in the Medoc in Bordeaux. Much different to the older style of this wine which were bigger tannic examples with fantastic concentration that you typically expect from the very best fruit in flagship MR Cab. Not sure if the 2018 style really floats my boat as much but it does have good fruit and is more approachable as a younger wine. I've never tried the 2017. The 2013 is a cracker.
