I'd have just returned the case had that happened with my first bottle. Same with the Giant Steps Merlot if it's as bad as people are saying.

So my buddy told VM about the dud bottle and they sent him another case FoC. Can't complain with their customer service this time.

On a side note, I opened a bottle myself last night. Really enjoyable.

Interested to know whether they required the return of the original case RD (which is their normal practice), they are pretty good with their returns I would have to agree....

I've sent them an email just as an FYI, as obviously I cannot return any bottles having all been poured down the sink (bar one).

I'm sure they will come to the party if there have been a number of punters all afflicted with the same issue BC, I've always found VM to be very accommodating with returns/faulty product. Every time I've called them to initiate a return of stock and wish to have it in the form of a store credit it's instantly available (pretty good considering they haven't been able to verify safe return of the wine as yet). I'm just interested to find out whether Rich Dog's friend got a 2nd case with no commitment to return the first one...

They sent him an email saying they'd send Aus Post to pick the remainder up but they never did. At least not yet, and he's received the other bottles.

Thanks for the explanation, they did have some issues with their shipping service a while back before they improved it, I had a case of wine sitting inside the entrance to my house for 3 months before the couriers (local Tas) finally pulled their fingers out and collected!

Possibly a new vintage of the Campbells Limited Release? RRP appears to be around $25 and the VM copy mentions limited release.

Yeah, possible, but I looked at the 14.5% a/v for the 2016 and 13.0% in the VM listing for the 2017 and thought the big differential unlikely. Couldn't see any others that were a good match, Pfeiffer and Rutherglen Estates usually 14.5% and up. Possibly Stanton & Killeen, but their 2017 Tempranillo is listed at 12.2% Tempranillo
Possibly Bullers Balladeer.

Has anyone had any issues with the Black Market 2013 Heathcote Shiraz? It’s the Handpicked Wines one which I received a couple of days ago. Opened a bottle over half an hour ago and it smells corked (despite being a screw top).
