Vinomofo Wine Deals

May be a silly question, but why is this Great Southern and not Margaret River like on the label?

I remember needing to look this up myself! :) Shiraz comes from Frankland River which technically does not form part of the Margaret River wine region. Wikipedia has it covered - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Southern_(wine_region)

The cab merlot does come from Margaret River so perhaps you're mixed up with that?

That does surprise me! Like baiden on the previous page, I found that one via searching Winecompanion, then found out who owned the label - very interesting that Winestar are selling via Vinomofo.

Yes, surprising they wouldn't clear it themselves. But it may have been under the ownership of a third party, the project is defunct now.
I still have one bottle of the original 2004 left, the last one drunk a year or so before was still holding well.

At ideas on the Yarra Valley Chardonnay that went up this morning? Wishful thinking had me hoping for one of the Giant Steps Chardonnay like the Tarraford Vineyard which is single vineyard and has he 96 from Campbell, but RRP on website is $5 out.

Possibly Cold Stream Hills Rising Vineyard? Tasting note is by CM, score of 96.

Anyone tried the previous JaJa shiraz's? good drop?

I haven't tried the 2006, but the original 2004 vintage is still hanging in there, they can cellar, made by Troy Kalleske I think.
This is a now discontinued project of Winestar, the Ja Ja are the initials of Bert Werdens children.

Another possibility is Hoddles 1er. Peach / honey complex matches well, but 13.2%.

It looks like VM may have their CM and JH confused with each other, so the 96 point CM may be a red herring.

I got a box last week of the shiraz not knowing it was Amelia Park. It was their Ironstone label, but definately had Margaret River on the bottle. I actually thought I had been sent the wrong box lol
