Vinomofo Wine Deals

I had just the tiniest little suspicion that I was not an orphan

Stuff like this can be very negative if it is managed poorly…….

mmmm, yes

I was spending a fair bit with them, but haven't done much for the last 12 months so am not surprised I didn't get it :(

I wonder how much you had to spend with them. i get the vim emails and while I thought my purchases had slowed in the last 12 months it also reflected the offers from VM compared to other retailers. Maybe I am bitter as a friend I referred and often split cases with got the email. Looks like we will be using his account

I wonder too, as I also get the VIM emails but didn't get the offer, whereas a friend I referred did, though I suspect he spends more than I do. Though I buy from other retailers more than he doe

5 orders in the previous 12 months for me (22 the year before that... )

edit: lots of $50 referal credits.....

The initial VIM qualification was just buying 6 cases. Seems with growth they've decided to add another tier. Not unsurprising given this is a FF forum, we should be used to the whole silver/gold/platinum thing

I am still receiving the VIM offers, perhaps mine is lost in the post…
I did search the junk folder ( all 1834 of them needs a clean out)
Maybe I will send a gentle reminder next week,… :)

My girlfriend and I have both been VIM's for some time, though she orders more wine than me these days. She got the VIM Free Shipping email and I didn't - seems to suggest at least 2 levels of VIM now exist.

let the rest of us forgotten VIM's know how you go ;)

I will ignore the re-classification face slap, and just let it pass
My vm purchases continue to slide and free delivery is really not much incentive if the product is not there.
Other marketers have levelled the field and , in spite of buying less volume , I am much more thoughtful now about what I do buy.
Too much chaff , too few oats…..

Me too. I also go the free shipping route when it's on - or buying for the group we often have over the 3 dozen which makes it free. Nice to have for the quick boom on short supply wines.

Re the various discussions a week or so back on the Kilikanoons - I found the Shiraz marginal (against their others such as even the McLaren Vale Parable). I know it's cheaper but isn't marked as such, which makes the comment on 'made for Vinomofo' close to the mark. On the other hand, the Shiraz-Cabernet was much better and worthy of the $.

Got the free shipping for a year also. Will come in handy with those ones I would usually wait on free shipping for, then miss out. I would say over 75% of the wines I buy are when free shipping is on, so wont save me a bundle.

Thanks for your input. Had I seen the Shiraz Cabernet I would of purchased that instead....still might grab a box down the track if it hasnt all sold out.

It seems like a good move by VM, I would normally just order when there was free delivery. I got the offer and have only ordered 2 cases in last 8 months as well as return some older orders, so I think it's quite targeted fwiw.

Face-slap? Hyperbole much...

It seems to be just that ( a face slap) ; a divisive and largely negative business decision poorly planned and executed.
Disenfranchising customers who have previously been rewarded for loyalty without explanation is poor business.
What do they achieve ?

It seems quite bizarre given that one of the attractions of the 'fo has been their building of loyalty by positive reinforcement.
Now they go overboard with negative reinforcement.
Someone has stuffed up...

Frequent flyer programs discriminate , but they do it transparently on clearly available terms and conditions.

When VIM first happened, where was your outrage? I don't recall you slamming such a negative, divisive move that disenfranchised loyal buyers who didn't make it into their new tier...

From what I can see, the only difference between VIM and VIM Lounge Access (or whatever they're calling this new tier) is that you got into one, and didn't get into the other.

Frequent flyer programs discriminate , but they do it transparently on clearly available terms and conditions.

QF/DJ have top-tier clubs (Chairman's Lounge etc.) that have no set published criteria, and there's certainly no transparency in how they're administered. They also have plenty of invite-only promos (double status credits etc.), comping mechanisms etc. which aren't published.
