Vinomofo Wine Deals

Fascinated to hear the upshot on this one SD.

FWIW I actually figured out the Black Market Cab Merlot that just landed in my in-box https://vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/black-market-deal-cabernet-merlot-2015? and it's the Miles from Nowhere 2015 that has garnered much bling but I seem to recall there not being all that much love for it on this fine forum, it's a cheapie at $8.90 but if I chop off another $35 worth of credits it's only $6.00 a bottle, does anyone have any quick thoughts as it is "selling crazy fast"?
it soundsgood. remember, a forty bucker on the fo may not taste as good as a twenny bucker. At your entry point, stop tommy hanking about and do some archery. We all know selling crazy fast is just to get you excited, but the way I see this one, you wont be sending it back.

I haven't tried the Miles from Nowhere cab merlot but I have bought their straight merlot and their cab sav. Both are decent wines without being particularly remarkable. I paid $5 a bottle for the merlot from a langtons auction and a bit less for the cab sav through a cellarmasters deal.

Pretty sure its been on Cracka and Winestar in the past (although maybe another vintage?). At that price point you're not getting a steal. Guess it depends on how much quaffing wine you want to have sitting around.

But BF it might be case of "shoot that poison arrow through my heart", that $35 credit is burning a hole in my pocket and I would be happy to offload it but then there are also the https://vinomofo.com/wines/mixed-case/yespanol Spanish reds that might be passable, I'm really not all that fussed other than the fact that WA reds are holding my attention more these days than SA's....

Obviously I'm not expecting miracles here, but it's fascinating how a wine can score a gold in a national wine show as top of class then be flogged off for possibly less than cost....

It's all over the interweb of wine-buying at the moment, Cracka, WBW, Wineselectors, CM, Virginwines, etc etc with the buy-in price being as low as $12.99 at Cracka to $16.95 at WBW, five gold medals but point taken, I don't really need 12 more quaffers hanging around, still curious about the Spaniards (see above) though, having enjoyed many a Rioja in the past....

Not sure if this ones been posted previously, but this looks like the 2015 Patrick Estate Riesling. I enjoyed the value of the 2013, will be interested to see how the 2015 goes.

Interesting that they reference how much of the '13 they moved. Just to put that in perspective, 6000 cases @ ($7.90 * 12) = $568,800. And that's just a single wine that they're selling. Curious to what VM's margin is, but I'm guessing 15 - 20%.

The Patrick Estate 2010 Shiraz that VM had some time back was excellent.

2014 has been out for a while and rated on JH site by Cambell Mattinson at 95 points. October 2016. The 2015 has also been released for sale
I meant to add - Shiraz from McLaren Vale to my earlier statement (none of the Haselgrove's from 2013 or any other "super premium" shiraz's from the region have been tasted.) from previous vintages 2014's shouldn't be available for tasting until November, let alone sold to the public.

Arrived yesterday and confirmed as Ulithorne DONA from McL V.

Opened a slightly chilled bottle (about 16C) and found fresh fruit with predominance of spicy Grenache in a medium weight wine. Certainly not "dark, tarry, loaded with blackberries and pumping with plum" as VM suggest, but a more elegant style, with no faults. Very pleasant drinking over the following 2-3 hours. No issue with Diam cork. Very happy with purchase.

Thanks guys, definitely The Lear according to Nexday manifest. Will try one on arrival and then in 24 months for an update...maybe sooner.

thought it was col cross as description says 18month in oak.
lear gets 20 months.
Five years worth playing Mammas and Pappas with Big Bubba was my intention here. Incidentally, the Cul Cross is a nice wine 2015 I think is a nice drop.
