Vinomofo Wine Deals

Ahhh thought it might be. So they're doing the 08 as well as the 09 now... ok.
Has anyone given the 08 a go? I really enjoyed the 09 (and still have a few left) and might pick up a case.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Any comments on the Bellvale pinot noir currently being advertised? I like Gippsland pinots but was wondering if anyone has tried this particular one.

When a highly anticipated shipment of new wine you've yet to try arrives and you have a head cold preventing you from doing a proper tasting. :(

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Anyone know what the $15.60 2010 Margaret River Shiraz is??

Im guessing some sort of Peccavi, Jeremy Oliver seems to be the reviewer they use for their wines as he gave them high marks...they have been selling a few of their wines lately.

Finally gave the Bellvale pinot noir a go last night. A lovely drop, and great price for the quality. Great expression of Gippsland pinots, beautifully reflective of the terroir and therefore very interesting to drink.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

Ordered last Thursday during the Christmas Stocking Fillers promotion a case of $99 Contraband Barossa Shiraz 2012, the unique 13.9% alcohol made me think of Fox Gordon Eight Uncles.

Arrived Monday today (so fast!) and exactly is the Fox Gordon. The wine was sold back in June at VM at $9.9 a bottle, and at $8.25 each now, it's a steal! :D

Mine has arrived, but yet to taste it.

The 2008 was excellent.

Re: Vinomofo secret wine deals

The vinomofo BLACK MARKET DEAL Malbec Blend 2011 advertised today at $8.10 down from $27 and described as:

'The 2010 was one of my bargain buys of the year and I have to say that the 2011 is even better again. If you’ve got Bordeaux taste but you aren’t driving around in a Bentley and realise that the real shiz is expensive, here’s the wine for you.

From a fantastic WA producer, who we obviously can’t name, we’ve gotten our hands on some cases of this stunning red. Direct from them to your cellar with a little stop over in our warehouse. This elegant, lively and plush blend of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet gives you a taste of France at a fraction of the cost. Imagine plump, fresh dark plums, cherries, cedar and earthy tones. It’s impressive depth and length proves it’s a first class vino in every respect. A truly legendary winery worthy of its 5 red star status has brought the goods, and we’re just so tickled to supply it to you at such an awesome price.'

Is likely the Capel Vale cellar exclusive.

It's a genuine bargain from its original price and a label many would recognise but I wouldn't buy it. I visited the Margaret River area in June this year and visited Capel Vale. Found most of their wines to be very disappointing as compared to others in the same area. Capel Vale was the only vineyard I did not make at purchase at.

I've bought it and its ok. There are better VM wines out there but its still a bargain for the price. For a similar style wine at a similar price i would recommend the Maverick Twins Cab Blend (that was a Black Market case recently) over this wine.

Agree that the Maverick Twins is good value and drinkable.

I stand by my recommendation to avoid Capel Vale. There's a reason it's cheap.

Has anyone tried this? Or know anything about it?

Star Lane Beechworth Shiraz 2011 $15

Retails for $55

2009 and 2010 seem well regarded but can't find anything about 2011

From Halliday
Estate-grown, hand-picked grapes, basket-pressed, wild yeast-fermented and minimum additions; bottle no. 1434 of an unspecified total. A particularly good outcome for the vintage, with a mix of spice and bramble overtones to the red and black cherry fruit of the bouquet and medium-bodied palate; the mouthfeel is particularly good, fine-grained tannins underpinning the elegant, mouthwatering structure. Drink by:2025

Just got a case of the VIM deal. Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 1999. Anyone else get one?

Which VIM deal?

Sounds like a great deal! Is it still available?

VIM deal which was emailed directly today.

You'd know about it if you got the email. Otherwise you'll have to ring them directly.

It's a VIM link, so I think it's a personalised linked to the users account.

I thought many users here were on the VIM list?

Was $660 for a 6 pack.

Dan Murphy's has the current vintage for $123.50 a bottle:

I just bought another case for a friend.

Edit:

Google 'vinomofo grant burge meshach 1999' and you will get the non personalised link.

They seem to have the 1999 for $129.00....seems like Huon Hooke didn't go much on it at all.
