Vinomofo Wine Deals

Some info re 10 Chains:
[COLOR=rgba(51, 51, 51, 0.6)]10 Chains is an exclusive range of premium wines from the Clare Valley in South Australia hand crafted by award winning winemaker Donna Stephens.

Assuming it's the same Donna Stephens - but she is the chief wine maker at Red Hill Estate.

Welcome aboard vinofomo, I have lost track and unsure of the "10 chains" you are referring to - is it one of the current offers?

Could todays Cab blend be Erin Eyes

If it is, any comments?

I'm also an interested party....

There was a bunch of speculation about a Clare Valley CS ($30 down to $9 or something) - speculation that it was Erin Eyes or Taylors or similar. I posted earlier that it was 10 Chains (http://www.australianfrequentflyer....inomofo-wine-deals-53217-976.html#post1482748). Seems they now have a website up.

Thanks AC

On another note I'm still keen on anyone's thoughts/comments on today's Cab blend

I think Erin Eye's looks like a good match - can't be many Cabernet Malbec Merlot blends from Clare Valley...

Other place that has sold Cab Malbec previously would be Jeanneret, but they don't seem to have this specific blend up on their website.

Not sure I with VM re calling it a "bordeaux blend" though - can't say I've had any Bordeaux with Malbec in it.

Looks like VM simply used the winemaker's descriptions: "Gallic or French Connection, the Gauls werepart of the Celtic races and so this Bordeauxblend of varieties should be named after my‘cousins’. "

IF this is Erin Eyes that is

She was at Kirrihill before that, so maybe she has returned to Clare.

Never mind the guesswork, the Erin Eyes website literally has the Tony Love "delish" quote on its front page. Steve Wiblin's Erin Eyes Wines - Erin Eyes Wines Clare Valley

Case closed if there were any doubt I'd say.

It was the Clare Valley Cab Sauv I was asking about the other day.

10 Chains

They now have a website...wasn;t there yesterday.

Apparently "A ’Chain’ is a historical unit of measurement with ‘10Chains’ being equivalent to 1 acre".

10 Chains in a furlong I believe. An acre is a measure of area. A bit of a geometry fail there. However, it may be forgivable if the wine is up to snuff. I hope I can leave it to one of you brave souls to investigate and report back. :)

TDC : Go the Vickery 2016 Eden Valley Riesling. It's a winner.
The great thing about riesling is that what to choose is more of a problem than affordability :)

I wholeheartedly endorse the Vickery Rieslings. Haven't tried the 2016 but the 2015 I picked up at my local BWS at 40% off as they were no longer going to stock it (WTF) was sublime and will definitely cellar. John Vickery has great pedigree and well worth inspection if you enjoy Aussie riesling.

All you really need to know is that the length of a cricket pitch is 22 yards. No not your' back yards!

10 square chains is equal to one acre.
